hey guys what should I major in? are there any jobs or career paths for people who like science/math but you don't have to study 6-10 years (med school) after undergrad for a nice, stable job?

I'm considering engineering but I don't know how hard it will be. I consider myself a good student (4.0 gpa) but still, the only people I know doing engineering are nerdy guys who just understand physics well. I had to take a long time to sit down and learn physics and even then I did worse than people who just understand it well.

With business, finance, or econ I feel like my interest in science will be wasted even if I get a good job.

Attend some career fairs at your university or use the career's advice service.

I love it here. A perfect mix of a victorian city, an ancient campus, and the countryside. Its also really old, so it's well credited. Can't fault it. Did you accept?

Politics

If you'll be staying in halls, choose Fife, Wavell, or Adam Smith. They're the best value. A maid cleans the facilities every morning (except weekends) and are the cheapest. All the other halls pay way more per week, and don't even get a maid.

Well how about Economics or Linguistics, as I have a choice between those as well.

Aberdeen is only rank 35 for econ, but rank 14 for linguistics.
I can't speak for these subjects, but in my subject (maths) the top 10 compared to out of the top 10 have a huge difference in material.
so rather than worry about ranking, just go for the subject that you actually want to do (or retry for a better uni, I'm sure there's significantly better in the US than Aberdeen).

Honestly, it's wayyy better than I thought it'd be. Then again I came in thinking it'd be utter trash and I'd transfer ASAP. Bunch of fucking losers but that's just to be expected from a Tech school. Price is real low which deciding factor for most students. Not everyone here is an autist so you'll find your crowd in due time. And by Pajeet I refer to the thick accent Indian who fucking reeks and crowds around with other Indians.
