What is the meaning of all this? What is your idea of a samurai? What - according to you - defines a samurai?

Otherwise no friendo

kinda fits the aesthetic

explain their role in the society

Being a hussar didn't give you any special role in society. It was just a type of cavalary unit, made up of higher born men since they had to buy all the equipment themselves.
desu being a hussar only mattered during times of war

I love the poles.
Dope design.
I'm sure they'd kill your ass too.
Everything else nurd fightsturbation.

There was no social status with being a Hussar besides the status you probably already had from being able to buy your own shit. Probably the best cavalry unit ever

This is the best movie ever

Version with english subtitles

Why made it supposedly such a great cavalry unit?

They were great at fighting but in 17th and 18th centuries the state was so weak they couldn't even organise a decently sized royal army
The magnates had bigger armies than the king

Western Europe had pretty much given up on lance armed and heavily armored cavalry. Poles kept it to deal with their Ostfront tartar neighbors.

because memes

horses
tactics
training
equipment
morale

In that order I suppose

Wings increase damage dealt against kebab by +8

And leopard leather by +5

oh idk maybe all the fucking wrecking of the enemy that vastly outnumber them they did.

maybe because they rode armored horses, while wearing plate, and using lances longer than pikes to break pike lines. or the fact they carried pistols and a carbine.

The wings were not a myth, what is debated is if they were attached to the rider or the saddle

Cry all you want you'll still not rape Vienna

Because of shit like this. Most of the Swedish casualties were due to the Hussars

> Being a hussar didn't give you any special role in society.

Nonsense, unlike in Western Europe, the Poles maintained the pagan / medieval philosophy of the szlachta, a distinct noble warrior caste where all had equal rights and social standing and though political standing was dependent on economic conditions, even the poorest warrior, little better off then a peasant with only his horse, weapons and the clothes on his back, was still a noble with all the rights and duties that entailed.

>This is the best movie ever
I liked The Deluge more, but that's me.

What's in the little box he carries?

Possibly reloads for the several pistols that would be carried in holsters on the saddle?

Just use musket instead of lance.

FYI their outfit is based on Ottoman "Deli" unit.

FYI fuck off roach

bump

Polish horse. Contrary to their medieval equivalent not a fuckhuge beast but a medium sized, extremely agile breed.
Trained for complex manouvers, turning 180 degrees on the spot and the like.
