Even colonialists made distinction between tribes, right? Some were branded "civilized tribes".

The difference is, now you don't have to stay on the res. You can leave, get educated, get a good job, own property, etc... But most of em stay on that B.I.A government money; working that casino and acting like Mexican gangstas and shit!

The five civilized tribes if the south-east. There were more, as well as, Suquouia's syllabary and the tribes to the northeasts council which had a role in creating our government.

Because they were ethnically cleansed off the face of the continent and our perception of them was molded by media like The Last of the Mohicans & Western movies.

Obviously historians have always known these portrayals are hardly representative of Amerindians as a whole, but the image stuck among audiences, and it's not as if America today has a substantial population of Natives around to contest that.

What I really dont understand is why you guys havnt organized yet in red pride groups like the rednecks and promote racial purity and pride in whatever tribe you descended from.

You could get away with it and create structures that may serve the survival of your people, if Northwestfronters, Dailystormers and "white" nationalists can organize you should be able to do so too with far more ease because your cultural heritage should be in theory still thicker and easier to use for such projects.

If you were an actual native then you would know that there IS a ton of animosity between different tribes based off of historical prejudices and power inbalances. Every other tribe in the SW hates the Navajo for trying to claim their historical territory that they seized from others, just like every other tribe in the Midwest hates the Sioux for doing the same.

Tribes hate other tribes. If you are not from that tribe, alot of reservations will not welcome you. Infighting, those Tribes that do adopt other tribes have problems. Where I am at, a tribe adopted another tribe, and they started voting out original members. All this over casino money. It takes a fuckton of government bullshit and years of zoning shit\waiting to even start one. Some tribes can't open casinos on their " land" due to zoning laws and who knows what else. So, tribes get jealous.

This is off topic but I'm going to tell the sad tale of the Susquehanna tribe. See before the British got a foothold in what would become Pennsylvania the Dutch and the Swedes had colonies there. The Susquehanna allied themselves with the Swedish who in turn supplied them with firearms. They were very careful to not give firearms to the Iroquois who began slaughtering any tribe that traded in fur to establish a monopoly on furs to get firearms. The Susquehanna actually defeated the Iroquois in a war, made the Delaware their tributaries. This was the golden age of the Susquehanna who became the most dominant power in the region, even defeating the colony of Maryland in a war with help from the Swedes. Then smallpox hit. It decimated the Susquehanna, crippling them. The Iroquois, though also hit by smallpox, were able to declare war on the Susquehanna. There's not too much detail on the war, we don't know if the Susquehanna lost or just said fuck it and left but all but 300 went West to either disappear or become Shawnee, we don't really know. Well those 300 Susquehanna lived in peace in Central Pennsylvania until the Revolutionary War where they decided to stay neutral. Unfortunately for them the Iroquois sided with the British and raided a town, killing minuteman and continental soldiers. The survivors of the massacre spread rumors that the Iroquois tortured unarmed soldiers and targeted civilians. Outraged, the Americans organized a retaliatory raid on the Iroquois. Which would've been fine but the troops mistook the Susquehanna for the Iroquois and killed them all. Now the Iroquois, angered that they'd been accused of torturing and massacring decided to show the colonists by actually massacring and torturing civilians on a raid. Washington responded by organizing a larger expedition that destroyed 40 Iroquois villages and all food stores they could find crippling the Iroquois.
