Dorm room. If I saw a poster for a concert or an art gallery with artwork that I liked I would steal the poster and hang it up, to break up my white walls. Usually when drunk on my way home.

Anyone have tips to make my room look nicer? Its just a square room, with white walls, a small ikea desk, white closets and what you see in that image.

I should say try to keep it as tidy and clean as possible and buy furniture with a white and minimal design

Hey user, maybe I can help. Start with a single "idea." Comfy, studious, hipster, buddist, music, nature, etc. From there find a picture that looks like that. If I wanted a cozy DIY space, I would look at Look at the objects and colors in the picture that give the picture that feeling. Then start filling your room with that feeling.

Two main points (both of which I'm sure some will disagree with) to giving your room an effay look.
A) You're gonna have to buy some stuff. How much that costs depends in the look you're going for, but the look of a room comes from the objects in it. If you don't have the look you're going for, you need to get the things that are missing.
B) If your dorm has carpeted floor, just accept now that it will never look as effay as you want
it to. Full carpeted floor just doesn't look good, plain and simple

I have wood flooring (not real though). I actually really like the colony style, I guess I could hang up a map with brown colors and some animal skull with long horns and a sheep skin on the floor, a classic brown colony style desk would also be important but I don't want to spend money on that. I just feel like it's not doable with my room, because of the things that I can't change about it. I also actually like the posters, although a bit immature, and they would clash with the colony style.

Let's say I want a comfy and fresh room that maintains a slight trippy feel (no buddah or eastern shit though). I am very much considering making some Pushwagner prints and hanging them up as well. What objects would give a comfy and trippy feel? And where would you put them? I guess I need shelves. Would a sheepskin on the floor make it comfy?
