>clothes store chain going bust
why?

China

They have been having financial difficulties for years now. It really should come as no surprise.

they sold ugly clothes. i see no reason why they can't go through nordstrom or some other retailer as a brand, though. brick and mortar is a waste of money

Oh fuck I genuinely liked their white tees.

Where is the best place to go now for a t-shirt?

I've had good luck with gap tees, but AA hit my shoulders in that magic spot that makes them look broader than they are.

Are the just closing down their stores or is the brand going away altogether. Never cared for American Apparel much but their tri blend tees are the big exception. That is a damn fine tee shirt.

Gildan bought them, imagine they'll keep the name but wouldn't be surprised if the fabric changes

that's what they get for selling over priced bullshit

Not even kidding, Forever 21.

damn she called it

>tfw never went to chicago to get rejected from one of their open castings to be a male muddle
>this year i would finally be in good enough shape to try

a manager gave me a 20% off coupon to AA and it says "never expires" on that back because as an apology for screwing up my order. well there's no AA store within 300 miles of me currently so I'll never be able to use that coupon.

next level on Amazon desu

>that's what they get for selling over priced bullshit

and this, boys and girls, is why there are so few low skill manufacturing jobs in first world countries and why it's fucking retarded to try to bring them back.

I think it had more to do with their branding going stale, the hype dying, lack of direction. There is no continuity on what they sell lately.

>more bodysuits

I usually go to H&M cause I don't know much but you're fucking with me right?

It's because they cracked down on wholesalers reselling at wholesale prices

They always made so much garbage, who the fuck was ever gonna buy one of those colour block hoodies?
Shoulda just stuck to body suits, basics and whore gear

They'll probably go 100% sweatshop third world slave labor and keep their fucking "American Apparel" name.

i'm gonna miss their collabs with artists

also how they didn't give a fuck w/ current tends and just did whatever they wanted with styles from the 80s and 90s

Alternative Apparel
Bella+Canvas
Lady White Co.

Costco, I shit you not.

no way nigger omg omg reblogged this is a completel holocaust

Along with the aforementioned financial issues, I blame the roller coaster that was their advertising.
To those not in the know, it gave off this sleazy feeling ripped straight from Terry Richardson's early works, and even to those that knew about the company. Combine that, with the numerous controversies surrounding the founder, and the attempt to make it a little more PG-13 to attract those that were long turned off from the brand, and you have a marketing titanic on your hands.

Hiring porn stars wasn't the best thing for their image either.

yo that's tragic

fuck.

hnng post more AA ads

They have good Women's clothes, don't really like the Men's stuff.
Also their sizing is all over the place and nothing fits right on me.

H&M Stretch T-shirt is what i use, half the price of AA and basically the same thing
And their all sized correctly, unlike AA.

Go to their closing down sale?
