not mine but I like the idea

anything designed by Dieter Rams

...

too bad that's like a $5k shelving setup

...

...

(Don't buy this, BTW. It's cheaper to DIY it.)

I have this in the brass version. Looks amazing and makes extremely good coffee.

Got this a couple weeks ago, containing everything Rams designed for braun. Can recommend.

thinking about buying this. german design is best design
t. german

I'm an architect (and maybe an industrial design) student, would this be a good investment?

...

...

what kind of plant is this?

Where do I get one in cheap?

I find very beneficial, I'm an art director, but I still use it as a source of inspiration.

It's monstera deliciosa.

I have a small set at home

I need this in my house

ive seen them used at antique furniture stores for a bit less than 500

how much did it cost you? are you happy with it?

you can probably get it from ikea for $100

yeah ikea does have a rip off version.

...

Gorgeous.

...

...

you don't actually need to buy that from vitsoe they're basically public domain and a million of them exist

you can essentially pay however much you want for those shelves in 2017 because so many different companies make basically the same thing

oh fuck yeah

cool

useless

could be cool

not comfy

could be more comfy

whatever

cool

real thing is always better than the fake

ooh link?

Literally the most effay computer in existence

What the fuck is it?

Insense burner

Oh okay, do you light it at both ends? Or does it keep burning through the hole?

bump, good thread

The hole holds the wooden part at one end of the stick, then you light the incense at the opposite end.

If you like Braun get the ABW31 designed by Dieter & Dietrich Lubs.
Solid block of aluminium, Akzidenz-Grotesk for the numbers, can be adjusted via the nob in the middle: no need to take off the wall.

I've had one since forever.

One of the best products mankind created. And so many good memories

what's the appeal with braun? i have a coffee grinder thats p old, works good and is braun

Always remember the ten commandments
>Good design is innovative.

>Good design makes a product useful.

>Good design is aesthetic.

>Good design makes a product understandable.

>Good design is unobtrusive.

>Good design is honest.

>Good design has longevity.

>Good design is consequent down to the last detail.

>Good design is environmentally friendly.

>Good design is as little design as possible.

based rams

I remember my parents had a tangerine iMac G3, loads of good memories. Why has computer design become so fucking boring since like the mid noughties all computers have been is brushed aluminium and LEDs

In their era they were pretty darn unique.
>Clean simple aesthetics designed with the user in mind.
>Innovated a lot with plastics, made them look good and feel nice.
>Overbuild to a ridiculous standard and 'made in Germany'

Take for instance their famous citrus juicer, at first sight it's a plain simple device, but look closer and you see the smooth lines and lack of clutter without looking or feeling cheap.
Functions? It only has two: juice by putting pressure on the juicer and that little spout that flips up to interest flow.
But it works.
And unlike modern juicers with 5000 parts, cleanup is easy, just two parts of which all nooks and crannies can be easily reached and are dishwasher safe anyway.

And it really is built to last, they always work, it doesn't matter if they are 20-40 years old. Take your coffee grinder, it works. I've yet to come across a Braun product from that era that didn't work and i've flipped thousands of Braun products on eBay.

The philosophy with Braun in the Rams era was to make the best functional and usual product for a task whilst being a product that doesn’t age prematurely, which won’t become out of style.

Products that will remain neutral, that you can live with longer.
Modern day Braun has lost a lot of that charm.

>tangerine iMac G3

I still use mine as a glorified typewriter.
And for the occasional game of Nanosaur.

It's like I am in the Urban Outfitters paradise

cool, what era of braun am i looking for for the good stuff?

>Put orange hat on apparatus.
>Orange liquid comes out into a glass.

How?

I don't know why they used it in Leviathan. French Press for making either tea or coffee is just utterly disgusting. besides it looks trash Pottery Barn style.

they're wooden fucking boards you jackass

anyone notice, that knowing the designer of your shelf or rug or chair is when you start to really lose normies?

who cares who makes your furniture?

Tbh maybe kinda creepy but it might look cool as a standalone decoration in an art themed house.

With no kids

boy oh boy is this thread the epitome of the cancer killing Veeky Forums

how?

normie

Yeah, appreciating good design is SO cancerous, you Rick Owens Diaper Fetish Pants wearing cuckold

Dieter Rams is probably the best Industrial Designer ever.
Jonathan Ive is just an imitator.

yeah exactly how normies react.
who cares if your clothes are SLP or handm right?

those schemes are sick

daily reminder that if there is any piece of plastic that the user comes into contact with, it is automatically not effay

...

Oh fuck I remember playing the shit out of this and bugdom on an old tangerine macbook

t. Diaper Fetishist.

Perhaps the semen that made you should've come into contact with a piece of plastic instead of the egg.

enjoy your carcinogens; I'll be over here barebacking your bitch.

Everything has carcinogens, you pseudointellectual fuckshit, including the air you breathe.

Try learning something from something other than a Netflix docuganda

what the fuck are those first two? the apple calculator just happens to have a similar color scheme. and look below that. WOW A SCREEN! ripoff much.

i get the other ones but cmon

yep, life is a carcinogen. don't want cancer? kys

>monstera deliciosa
And to think I thought you were making up that name.

>>Overbuild to a ridiculous standard and 'made in Germany'
No longer, I'm afraid.
Just like everything, it's shittier now and made in china. Same price though (or more), so they kept that standard.

good luck getting anything Dieter that is in decent condition

uncomfortable and pricey. Also, over-hyped

Scandinavian design is the best and comfy

Nice stuff, but try displaying them on the side so you see the NATO round description. HomeMadeModern on yt did a video about using these as a decorative storage unit, might want to czech it out.

Yea, and hopefully if you DIY you flatten the bottom so it doesn't roll around and spill ash everywhere

plants that are alone like this seem really try hard, if you're going plant man, go all the way.

pro tips from shitty trips

nice, I have a Poker 3 and I'm starting to miss having a numb pad, but this has a nice soft feeling to it.

gotta have them

>almost every girl in my major
"I hung this ethnic sheet on my wall and watched a couple shows on HGTV, I'm kind of a designer now"

Overrated and not worth it unless you just care about the name

Cool, but who plays CDs anymore? All vinyl or digital. More so, who wants to walk across the room every time they want to change the song/album. Not practical.

There isn't anything inherently wrong with someone not knowing or "appreciating" designer stuff, it's probably just not one of their interests. It becomes a problem when they buy things that are a waste of resources or are dangerous to health or environment.

Only good Leica is a film leica, otherwise just get good glass

basic facts

>No longer, I'm afraid.

I mentioned it.

Sad but true, take the the coffee machines that used to be a plastic marvels of perseverance outlasting most owners.
They now have shoddy on/off buttons that fails within two years.

>Overrated and not worth it unless you just care about the name

I own one, it's more decoration with a function, as with most Starck objects.
It does actually work well if you want to squeeze one lemon for a drink or dish.
But people stupidly expect it to make a gallon of OJ.

on the floor if you're not an ethnic

Either flatten the bottom or use some nice wood to make a cradle for it.

Margiela snow globe

What keyboard is that?

w2c the clock in the bottom left corner?

memories, dude...
my blue imac came preloaded with bugdom and I played the shit out of that, nanosaur, and weekend warrior
my dad had an indigo one in his office at work
