Red pill me about Reddit fashion boards (does Reddit have boards?)
Is it all shit or is there any good stuff on it?

It's all shit but at least they're better than this board

Veeky Forums
>autistic neckbeard edgelords

Reddit
>autistic neckbeard fedora tippers

That's the only difference.

Yes they have boards. They are only marginally worse than Veeky Forums. I think it's hilarious that Veeky Forums acts smug and superior but these children are still stuck on the likes of Rick and the techninja meme. Especially the Rick fixation is hilarious. Doubly so when some of these cunts are slowly realizing the reality that as an expensive, well pressed designer (who makes fucking hoodies and sneakers for God's sake), that he's basically just as fuccboi hypbeast as Supreme or whatever.

"W-why are these niggers wearing muh Rick?? I thought I was a patrician special snowflake and he was only a thing on my Chinese cartoon porn forum secret club!!"

You catch that gem of a thread?

Veeky Forums's pathological obsession with hating Reddit at all times and in all things is pretty much the reason Veeky Forums despises streetwear. Just because there's r/streetwear. Rick's basically All black streetwear anyway.

tl;dr - Veeky Forums is better than the Reddit boards but that's not really saying much in the first place.

I mostly browse here or /r/streetwear. Reddit is of course more memey and hivemindish but there are still plenty of quality fits in the WAYWT threads.

r/malefashion is miles ahead of Veeky Forums in terms of discussion and fit pics

Veeky Forums is a bunch of angry and insecure teenagers/young 20s that think knowing a selection of accepted designers makes them fashionable and above others.

Veeky Forums is a giant echo chamber with very little original thought

Reddit fashion boards are better than this board. Appeal to the "average" person but you'll oddly find really great fits in the MFA WAYWT on random occasion, not that the people who post those fits ever post anywhere else on the boards. It's kind of like a mixed bag.

Fashion boards on the internet are generally just not good though.

Styleforum probably has the widest variety of posters but they can be hilariously insular and deluded about clothes.

Sufu used to have good fits but is dead and also used to be full of angry asians who were trying way too hard to be edgy and cool.

Care-tags is super friendly and probably the highest concentration of actual fashion knowledge on the net but most of the users who actually know how to dress don't even post in the WAYWT any more because they don't give a shit about internet approval, so the WAYWT is like 90% kids in really shitty pseudo-normcore.

Stylezeitgeist is for catty european or wannabe-european hipsters who inject themselves with estrogen.

In terms of how angry/outspoken a board is about fashion compared to how the board dresses as a whole, this board is the worst.

>r/malefashion is miles ahead of Veeky Forums in terms of discussion and fit pics

Probably because you can't hide behind anonymity so you're taken to real account for being a know-nothing, etc. You have to put more thought into what you say.

If you wanna talk about the individual boards of Reddit...

/r/malefashionadvice is the best of them but like I said, it's pretty much the biggest male fashion board on the net and it's an extremely mixed bag. You're going to find all sorts of shit opinions and bad outfits but you'll also find plenty of good outfits and knowledgeable people too. If you want to get an idea of what I mean just check their WAYWT on a weekly basis. You will be surprised by how frequently you'll find a fucking amazing outfit just randomly thrown in among all the generic looking stuff, it's kind of weird but this is what happens when you have a board so big that the demographics and tastes are all over the place.

/r/streetwear isn't particularly bad, it's basically just teenagers in hoodies, sneakers and skinnies. I'd say it's on par with this board.

/r/malefashion is a wasteland. This board has cycled through so many different userbases through the years, all of whom move on to different boards eventually. Lots of very bland, very expensive, very samey outfits and lots of really aggresive and opinionated users who are victims to fashion just as much as the average hypebeast.

Truth is they are way better than Veeky Forums is, Veeky Forums just generally has huge elitist way of looking at it self, Veeky Forums probably was 'better' at some point but it sure as fuck isn't so anymore.
The main issue people have with reddits fashion boards is the circlejerkiness of it and people afraid of saying anything negative because of moderation and upvote system. But Veeky Forumss WAYWTs for example are just as circlejerky these days with huge fucking infestation of namefags sucking each other off and while you can actually criticize fits here, most people have their heads so far up their own ass and the circlejerk that they will just straight up ignore even constructive criticism if it has any sort of negative tone.

>Stylezeitgeist is for catty european or wannabe-european hipsters who inject themselves with estrogen.
SZ basically had all the potential to be THE place to discuss actual designer and runway fashion but it was all wasted because faust is a dumbass who doesn't understand internet and its culture enough. It's still one of the best places to actually learn about designers because the threads are up and you can read a ton about them in those threads, there are links to interviews, wide variety of perspectives and opinions etc.

Speaking as someone who's been on fashion boards since like 2011, Veeky Forums was never better.

In its earliest days, CDB's were an actual recommended shoe here. I don't personally think CDB's are actually a bad shoe but I'm saying this anyways to illustrate the point that this board basically just always latches on to whatever's exactly one step ahead of whatever's trendy in the mainstream.

The true problem of internet fashion boards being "elitist" (including this board) is linked to the nature of fashion itself. Because people associate clothing with class, you're going to find people who are elitist about it everywhere. The fact that what is "Good" in fashion is ever-changing and morphing as the times go by only makes this problem more pronounced. It's a common criticism of the fashion world from outsiders, and it is honestly a correct one.

A board like /r/malefashionadvice is prettymuch built for criticism, the issue is that most people (this board especially) are really shit when it comes to looking at clothes objectively and figuring out how to make an outfit better within the framework of how the person wants to dress. Clothing styles are very closely linked to personal taste, which results in people flinging shit instead of saying anything worthwhile.

So far, the only fashion board that has figured out how to not be full of elitist pricks who value their own tastes far too much is Care-Tags, which has other problems of its own (waywt posts have a low quality on average due to the board's friendliness)

But it's still the best fashion board on the net if discussion of clothing and fashion is your actual intent (vs. "flexing on fuccbois", which seems to be the intent of most boards)

Stylezeitgeist is only good for learning about a certain niche of the fashion world, and if you want to talk about quantity of knowledgable posts and users compared to how long they've been around, Care-Tags has them beat pretty easily.

>Veeky Forums was never better
I think you are underestimating just how bad reddit fashion boards used to be, not saying Veeky Forums was ever particularly good, just that reddit used to be fucking shit.

I was on reddit fashion boards back in their early days. You must realize that /r/malefashionadvice was never created specifically as a fashion board.

It was made by 1 dude who needed fashion advice for a wedding or something, a couple people joined in and a board just kind of emerged from there.

You're right that at the very beginning, the first year or so of its existence, it was very bad but it was not out of place or egregious when compared to the actual clothes that were popular at the time. Veeky Forums was only dressing slightly better, and in roughly the same clothing style.

MFA pretty quickly overtook this board though, in terms of quality. I will say though that their sidebar is and always has been trash for the most part. Lots of really misleading advice that results in a lot of users there dressing really weird- the main thing I see is most people on that board wore their clothes way too tight for a period of time. I'm not talking skinny jeans, I mean t-shirts and button-ups and shit. There's so many "Best of MFA Waywt" albums where the users are wearing shirts that look like the buttons are about to pop off and hit someone in the eye.

And also, this board has never dressed well as a whole. You would rarely get really stylish people post here on occasion but it's always been a rarity.

>You would rarely get really stylish people post here on occasion but it's always been a rarity.
There is really nothing to 'gain' from here so to speak if you dress well. The culture is fucking shit, the "criticism" you get is some dumb ass replying to every fit in the thread with 2-6 words that actually say absolutely nothing, the best situation is bunch of people sucking your dick, the worst situation is people shitting all over your fit, you gain absolutely nothing from it either way. And the chances are that if you dress well already, you don't really need the approval of this place on how you dress.
Currently there are like 2 people posting sorta frequently to WAYWTs with nice fits every time and it just mostly makes me wonder why do they even bother.

I think one of the reasons fa likes rick so much is because only a certain build can pull it off. If youre even slightly chubby you look ridiculous.

This post is prime example of why Veeky Forums is so shit
Someone being tremendously upset people like a designer they don't like for whatever reason

unfortunately Veeky Forums is littered with ignorance, its inescapable here.

You speak quite confidently for an idiot that doesn't have a clue about fashion

>that reddit post-spacing
fuck off you neckbeards, why are you even here if your precious fedora Reddit is so much better??

>Veeky Forums is a giant echo chamber with very little original thought
LMAO, you can't even call something ugly on Reddit, you just get downvoted into oblivion if you don't write something passive aggressive/an autistic pun.

On Veeky Forums the other hand, we will call you out if you are doing something retarded.

A negative hivemind is still a hivemind

what about KTT?

Not really. It's mostly fear of looking stupid and being mocked. When you have the power of being anonymously judged by internet points you're scared of looking bad. It doesn't necessarily mean you have anything smart to say, just that you sound smart.

I can't stand the fucking ""fashion"" subreddits and their ridiculous uniforms.

However, frugalmalefashion is actually a great sub for flash sales. Copped a pair of stans for 20 bucks because of them
