What separates this from going to Goodwill and just buying the same shit a few sizes too big for you?

what separates this from going to Goodwill and just buying the same shit a few sizes too big for you?

nothing, it would still look equally as bad

this is balenciaga btw

What makes you think that what you described isn't exactly what he did?
He's not a model, that's not a designer jacket.

it's balenciaga u dunce

Nothing, because Balenciaga is shit.

materials and build quality

>this 2006-era digital camera-quality picture
I really hope this isn't an official Balenciaga picture

Thats what people with good style actually do. He's not a great example though.
His name is Walter Pearce btw. Hes a casting director.

terry richardson

and it is

Oooof

It's the way the clothes are designed and made to fit oversized. Sizing up on stuff just turns it into a drapey sack.

The jacket is tailored with stiff high armholes that hold their structure despite the large size. The sleeves are designed to be wide in diameter but nearly normal in length. Any thrifted jacket that oversized would have longer sleeves.

Pants could be thrifted but you'd obviously have to tailor them to get that look.

Boots should be a no brainer by looking at them. They're very specifically designed with a chunky look that is also graceful due to the sleek line of the last/toebox and the high quality leather. Good luck finding that at a thrift store.

you cant just throw things together because they're a certain name or age. If you're going to shop for vintage pieces at goodwill you should have a general theme for your fit

I'm sorry but those boots are anything but graceful

and even with your points, you should that picture to anyone and the first thing they would say is that jacket does not fit

he's such a fucking hack

is he supposed to look like the ayylmao that crashed in roswell

that is one ugly looking dude

of course, bc it doesn't fit the way you expect a jacket to fit. but that's obviously the point, no?
im not particularly a fan of the "look ridiculous on purpose" school of design either, but it's obvious that thought goes into the design, it just caters to people with different taste.

supreme

>he fell for the materials and build quality meme
