I have a light colored denim jacket and two patches on the way, both Velcro. Can I just see some Velcro on the jacket and never take the patches off or will they get fucked up in the wash?

I wonder if the bottom patch would get me beat up in Russia.

This is the other patch I got, the jacket has a Harley Davidson patch already on the back, but it's worn in well

Hopefully it would get you beat up in most places.

I'd kick your ass for that dweeb

Why don't ya'll want to go to Antarctica? Don't you know the earth is flat?

Lads, im thinking of making my own RAF style jacket/parka.

How shit/flawed is my method and how likely am i to fuck it up?

Basically, this is what ive cooked up.
>buy plain piece of fabric
>Print artwork i want on the back of jacket (most probably a beksinski painting) using this method
youtu.be/yO3qZR8ahlk
>leave 1.5cm border around said image for sewing into using this method.
youtu.be/ODoLrCTxp5o
>Cut hole in back of a plain black Parka/jacket and sew into it using above method
?????????????
>cheap Raf parka

I understand theres a lot more to the appeal of actual raf parkas than just the fancy image on the back, but i dont feel like shelling out 10k to buy one. I can see it coming out a lot worse than i expect it to but i guess its worth a try, if not just for practice.

Hello, kmart in my area has some cargo pants that fit pretty nice as pictured and i was wondering what would happen if i died them and which colour would look good they come in black and tan. what would happen if i died the black ones with white dye or bleach? would it look cool or the tan ones navy would that work? cheers

you can't dye anything white
if you bleach, it'll weaken the fabric and change the color to whatever the base of their black is (usually an orange)

ignoring the rest of your post

ok thanks

do you know about vice versa? white to black

literally just identify the fiber of your item, buy a black dye kit for that fiber, follow the instructions

What colours are the patch and the parka? The plan sounds good.

nice, thanks!

Some of them, like drapedrape2, are useless, because there is no pattern.

I hate sewing circles. Luckily it's only a small one.

I use firefox, so I only have to download an app to rip the images from Kindle?

that pic pretty much explains what you have to do, Firefox can't filter the images, if I remember correctly, so it's just more cumbersome to find the files

I go incognito because I have like 2 gigs of ram on my shitty laptop and it crashes less frequently while ripping pics

Faggots that spell y'all wrong need to fuck off

Just be careful, mod podge is water soluble

You're probably gonna have to try a few times to get the transfer process down. Also in my experience I've only had luck with laser printed images, but idk for sure if it's the only viable option.

Oh yeah, and this. Honestly, I would just get a acrylic gel medium instead. It's going to maybe twice as much cost wise, but the finish is going to be smoother and once completely dry is going to wash the same as fabric paint.

bump

1 last thing.

So I fell for the dyed Flecktarn Parka meme and attached a Yellow Eyes patch on one sleeve, I want to get a backpatch too, but not black metal related. Any inspo?

>>>/etsy/

Make or buy a patch that caters to your other interests?

Where's the user with his shoe?

nice! when will we be able to see the full product?

Any patches lyk this?

Bump

ypu could order a t-shirt with this design printed on it and make it into a backpatch

i fucked up a bunch of saint laurent clothes

W2C thick black rope?

They want $30 for a piece of rope

If you can, unsew some of the easier pockets etc using a quick-un-pick and remove drawstrings and any unnecessary garbage. Without ripping it ofc. Makes it look much cleaner if that's what you're going for, from experience

Pretty sure there was a guide for this ages ago, involved buying a plain tshirt that lets you print your own design on it like that red bubble shit, then either iron on transfer or hemming(?) the edges and stitching it on

Product? Anyway, soon. I did a test run so I can practice and see where I need to pay more attention. I'll post a picture in my Sunday best later.

If you are planning to use it as a belt, don't, that looks pretty awful

I am planning to use it as a belt.

Just buy a big black rope, da fuk

I can't find any

way too fat for slp

what are you doing?

I'm actually quite happy with the front, I'm looking for something to put on the back side and as I'm having black metal patches on all of my jackets, I was looking for something else to put there

Maybe you can some rope:
(1) at the sewingshop
(2) where they sell curtains
(3) where the fishermen shop

looking for some help with a Calvin Klein suit jacket. Everything about it fits well but the sleeves, which are a fine length but too baggy width-wise. Anyone know any good ways to remedy this without fucking up the lines of the suit, or the sleeves?

You want take in some fabric? I assume you know how to sew with a machine? You can always take it to the tailor.

looks awesome I can't wait

How good does printable iron on paper work on standard black heavy blend gildan hoodies?

well good luck? what else do you want to hear?

don't cut a hole in the parka. just sew the patch over the existing fabric.

if you cut a hole in the parka, it will drape incorrectly forever thereafter unless the fabric you're replacing it with is of the same weight, drapes in the same manner, and you sew it absolutely perfectly.

just sew the patch onto the parka.

trust me.

lil bump

What do you want to iron on it?

Does anyone have any experience with dyeing a black piece of fabric into another colour? Is the result just a very dark version of the dye colour, or is the effect barely noticeable? Can't seem to find much about this online.

you can only darken fabric through dyes

so I should use a dye stripper first, I guess.

Me too user, me too

Nice thread user, wish it were more active.

I myself made a New Years resolution to learn how to hand-sew my own clothing without a machine. I have nothing but free time and I have always hated using a machine because its loud and stressful.

Starting with a basic bucket hat kit from Alabama Chanin. I also bought the book and it seems that all their teaching styles are based on hand-stitching from start to finish.

Looks interesting, don't hesitate to post a pic when you're done

I swapped out the laces on a pair of super cheap Gu shoes... it looks like shit lol

but I might use the laces for some other light colored cheap shoes if I can

Dying my MAGA hat like picture related in blue text. Is a packet of Dylon sufficient?

Normally yeah

Machines bark a lot, but they don't bite. Sewing is fun, but when you spend a lot of time on 1 thing it's less fun.

how do I get muddy light blue jeans like pic related?

Acid wash

I think I want to DIY these rather than spend $500+ on them. Soloist 'The Jean' made from Levis 501s. Does anyone have a pattern like this or would it basically be go nuts with a seam ripper and scissors and guess? Probably going to do them in grey or faded black.

I think you need 1 or 2 jeans as a source of fabric. When you cut out a square you'll need to cut out the same figure + 2cm on every side from those other jeans. Plan and measure where you want to cut.

>it looks like shit lol
Yeah it does

Could you make a .pdf of the book?

How do I paint on a jeans jacket like this?

Acrylic paint.

any acrylic paint, or are there special ones used for fabric? Does it wash?

The user in the previous thread () that made the jacket also mentioned fabric paint. I once painted letters in various colours on a tshirt to make my own devo tshirt (I gave it away). I did 2 or 3 layers of cheap acrylic paint and it didn't disappear after washing, although it had a 'cracked' texture.

...

Lots of starch.

Bump

I just did some experiments with bleach and the end result was kinda similar. I just put dark blue denim in bleach without diluting the bleach for like 7 minutes and then I put the denim under running water. Idk why it went yellowish tho, so idk how to control that

Curtain tie backs. Or go to a fabric store.
If you get desperate, maybe check into porn store "silk rope" for BDSM.

I bought levis 511 and they fit like shit so I thought I might as well make shorts out of them. What lenght is better? Right above the knees or higher?

It's in pastebin iirc

What you want. Higher.

Yeah that's what I thought, I just need approval from anonymous people on Veeky Forums, because I'm not able to decide on my own.

by diluting the bleach?
the yellow is the color of the original cotton fibers

Oh I didn't know that
I tried with diluted bleach and it didn't came out yellowish. Maybe the denim I had was too dark to begin with

Would it be possible to to due this wool jacket grey/light navy, it's 50yuros and I don't want to fuck up

yeah it's always possible to dye darker
keep in mind that the original colour stays, so your final product will always have a small greenish tint

How damaged are the jeans?

I don't know anything about DIY but can anybody please explain to me how to do something like this?

option 1. heat transfer print directly onto hoodie
option 2. print pictures on white fabric, sew unto hoodie.

probably more options as well. but these 2 at the top of my head.

Should I? Pls help

u do u
printing the images on white fabric and then sewing them seems to be the better option. Use the same method as the raf simons parka in the pastebin

bump

Waterproof? Wouldn't the patch damage that?

The concept of /diy/ seems to have ties to sustainability. What are some good resources on that?

>Waterproof? Wouldn't the patch damage that?
I doubt it

It's only lightly water resistant; a heavy rain would make quick work of the jacket

Would someone mind elaborating on "sustainability"? I think it should be fairly easy to piece things together from old inspo and old clothing (to take apart and make into new stuff), if that's what you mean

innerdecay

I've heard some user complain about the quality of inner decay, but idk
