Does anybody know why non religious people think Christians are child molesters?

Unfortunately in places like Ireland as far off as just the 1970s mass graves of literally thousands of Irish babies and children have been found in ecclesiastical care centres. Thousands, only found out quite recently, fucking children man. A lot of them showed signs of abuse and the fact they disappeared from records so easily and the church covered this up is scary.
