Maybe I'm a bit young to ask this question, but is marriage and having a kid worth it ?

Let's say you want to use your money for yourself and you want to live a free life.

have a kid, dont get married, charge your "partner" rent, have the rent mailed to a separate address, collect all dem freeloader mother dollars

I'm a person who's never invested but is curious in getting involved in trading stocks.
I'm not asking for advice on where to invest, but I'm curious what a good amount of money to start is if you want to dip your toes? Honestly I'm not planning to become a billionaire on this shit or do it for a living. I want to consider it more like a budget you take to a casino, expecting to lose it. So what's a good starting amount of cash that you can potentially grow and be a little flexible with?

For context I have $10,000 in savings, I don't plan on blowing all of it.

Li, how you do i use jdownloader with this?
helpme

ultimately yes for most people. but you have to understand its a huge time and financial commitment. Especially if you want your kid to go places. Having a kid is morally and financially one of the most selfish things you can do. But if you're successful you can be like the great Ghengis, Khan of Khans and have like literally 1/5 the world be sired from your loins today.
Or the Rothschilds who grew up in a poor little hovel in new york city, if memory serves, and who's father was sharp as a tack but had many sons he deployed accross the world to conquer various banking markets. Ultimately making banking the family business. You can share trade secrets with family pretty easily and create a dynasty worth following. Thing is intergenerational wealth is a very difficult thing to achieve, and the family office, the office where the family works on its investments, is a very difficult thing to achieve.

on the amount. I started with 5k it wasn't enough. bumped it to 8k and it was manageable, but my success rate wasn't high b/c of lack of leverage. 25k is the minimum for leverage, 35k is about the ideal.
In the meantime though, definitely open the brokerage account and start stacking it in the account so its ready to go when you are. Its not like savings accounts are paying anything.

what are the odds of successfully getting a personal line of credit in the range of 7000-10000 USD (any amount in that range is fine as it's more than i need) based on the following criteria:

>783 equifax/744 transunion credit scores
>1 credit card account with a 5700 USD limit
>excellent credit card utilization
>100% perfect payment history
>0 negative marks on any account
>12 years, 9 months old credit history
>no credit inquiries
>absolutely 0 criminal history, not even so much as a minor traffic violation
>no debt at all
>no collection requests
>no loans to my name at all

pic offered to get your attention. i need all the insight and opinions i can get, family.

Can someone give me some stock tutorials? How can you know where to buy and where to sell?.
Help me, pretend that my IQ is 0

Pretty good, they'd be better if you were an authorized user on an account at least that large.

That 744 is fucking you up though. use transunion based applications last..

You're going to want to apply with companies that check equifax in your area.
use the creditpulls database on creditboards.com to see

Get your utilization to 1% for 1 month or two before you apply.

Then apply for cards untill they stop giving them to you. You'll likely have a 720 by the time they stop but around 50k in new credit.
You'll want a charge card first to get that last little boost.

What are you planning to do with the cash?

There are some interesting ways to fund stuff, particularly business things without upfront capital

i mainly need the extra cash flow to smooth things out for the next 1-2 years. i'll be looking to invest it in some very small things and upgrade some equipment of mine (namely a PC).

like i first mentioned, i'll be aiming for a 7000-10000 USD personal line of credit, but will only end up using/needing a maximum of 4500 USD. the main thing is that i need actual access to liquid cash flow and i feel like my excellent credit history is the strongest way to go about acquiring it.

>Pre-Employment drug screen and background check

What do they mean by "background check"? What does that include?

depends on the company and your responsibilities, some check your credit score and that you aren't a felon, some hire a PI to do a full dossier on you.

If you were reported to a collection agency for a debt (In this case, 60 dollars, and will pay the original group, not the collectors), does that mean you are barred from "good" employment?

one get on creditboards.com
or pay
lexingtonlaw
and get that shit removed

two
is it on your credit score? if not no. if yes the question will be this person was not responsible enough to deal with a matter of $60 can I trust them with more?

Okay so long story short, I've been dealing with a cancer diagnosis and trying to manage my financial obligations. Basically, the cancer institute put my "outstanding" bills (clinic side 120 dollars and hospital side 60) on hold (I have an official letter from them stating that), and I received a letter today from a collection agency saying that my account for 60 dollars at the cancer clinic is with them. The cancer clinic helped me apply for Medicaid (we are waiting for them to determine my retroactive coverage to help pay the past 3 months of bills), and did an in house app for aid with them (once Medicaid comes thru, then the app will be determined), following that I will pay any remaining amount.

I don't know if it's on my credit score, I was thinking I should wait until Monday when my patient advocate calls me back (I left her a voicemail today detailing the collection letter). Should I check it? If now, then how? If it is, I am seriously considering getting a lawyer to get it removed and suing the cancer institute - I've worked with too many of these financial people explaining my situation and how they need to work with me (I can't have black marks - I've worked for the gov't and want to return to gov't). I can't have any marks against me, if so I won't be able to get employment as an analyst in either public or private groups.

Thank you

>shop currently has no manager or assistant manager
>there's usually cover from other branches during the week, but on the weekend I'm in charge
>have to do manager work
>barely any other staff on the weekend so have to do pleb assistant work too
>often have to stay an extra 2-3 hours or so

>I'm a mere assistant; not getting paid extra
>overtime has to be authorised with the area manager otherwise it will be seen as voluntary
>I'm doing unauthorised overtime but it's out of necessity, not voluntary

What should I do? There's so much going on.

The only good thing is that apparently the area manager has said to others that she's genuinely impressed with how quick I'm learning everything and that she feels sorry for me because I've got a lot of pressure on me.

Monday: Apply for manager job for a top-tier Fortune 500 company

Tuesday: Get an email asking for an interview ASAP

Wednesday: Chat for 20 minutes with potential boss, 'let's get you in here, HR will call you!'

Thursday: Crickets

Friday: I leave a voice mail following up and get a text immediately from boss-to-be saying HR will reach out soon.

Thoughts?

this sounds like experience you can use for other better jobs.

Get your exp, but dump the company as soon as you can. Just pretend like you are a team player, give them your 15 day notice and move on.

It'll be a good reference.

Help, dumb kid.

If I worked in December 2014, but didn't get paid until January 2015. Was I employed in 2015? A tax form I'm filling out says employed, and had no income from work.

But I had income but wasn't employed.

does a simple excel cost modelling of a planned product for a social enterprise count as 'financial modelling' in a resume?

They went with a minority hire, instead. Sorry user but quotas must be met.

Hey guys

How do I calculate my profit/loss if I buy/sell ETH at multiple positions? Do I average out the buying price and calculate from there, or get the latest buying price and do the same?

Bump

Anyone heard about this blossomfinance.com business before?

>Average returns range between 6-12% per year. Microfinance repays at much higher rates than conventional loans: principle capital is returned in over 97% of investments.

Is it trustworthy? all I found so far is that it started as a bitcoin mobile payment service a couple years ago, then it became a financial service aimed at mobile users, the old bitcoin mobile payment service website is a parked domain now, the current service changed domain name once and the previous domain also became parked; is it a coincidence or do bitcoin-based services like this just not live long? is it still worth trying?

Opportunity wise should I get my associates in finance or accounting. I do plan on earning a bachelor's once I have the funds.

Been into art my whole life, but having reached adulthood, it's clear to me pursuing a practical degree and stable job while doing art on the side is better than going to art school.

How would I go about getting a well paying engineering job?
Is there anyway to apply my drawing skills to engineering?

Sorry if these are dumb questions, this is new for me.

define well paying

Enough to live comfortably and afford my own place, nothing crazy.

Just switched from my phone to a computer, so my ID changed.

2 year associates cost me 10k, i make 45k a year now starting. if arts your thing you can do layout drawings or architecture for a construction company, etc

engineering is the only true art. the rest are just aspects of engineering

You were able to get a job with just an associates? Did your school matter to your employer at all?

nope, strong ability in solidworks/autocad, plus an internship where i made it my mission to do everyone else job a bit and learn basic stuff.

its an associates in manufacturing technology, keep your GPA above 3.0 apply for internships like crazy, they usually pay you okay. mine paid 15$. be polite, be friendly, dont worry about being a bitch at the internship. brown nose your boss and get experience. and the best possible recommendation letter

btw the school is a community colledge

creditkarma
and
creditsesame
are free do both and I believe that gets yuo all 3 scores

It would be under the collections section.
if not just pay these guys the $60 if you legit owe them or try to settle for less.
if you do ask them for the "settlement amount" use the term.

If you did overtime, just show your time records to to the area manager and have her authorize it. She can easily back date these things. if they don't add a bullet to your resume and move on b/c you're working for shit people.

series of addition and subtraction. averaging can work too but its usually more work by hand.
your platform should do this for you.

finance. bigger roles closer to the money.

Colledge. Where you get knowledge.

Is it possible to land a data science/machine learning job with just a CS degree but self taught ML with some decent projects? I'm asking because my university doesn't offer much AI but I've been self teaching myself a lot and its what I want to do. I'm thinking if I can get the interview and prove I know my shit I should be able to.

bumping for more insight to these questions

The fuck do you mean by insight?

insight. you know, what people think about the situation based on their own experience of knowledge.

Can anyone link me a good website that talks about start ups? I need to write a critique on a finance-related website and am interested in start-ups since that's where I plan on going as a CS student.

Masters help

what the hell are dividends and how do they work

Windfall advice here
>Just graduated with Chemical Engineering degree
>Had a paid internship, pursuing leads in engineering/data analysis
>Working random restaurant job for cash and have about $6k saved currently
>Receive previously unknown fund for $11,000

So what should I do with $11k? I don't know much about investing and I'm not looking to blow my load like other idiots that think getting some cash makes them an expert. Obviously this isn't a lottery win but it's something I can use to put myself ahead and make my future goals easier.

Dividend are a payment to stockholder made periodically out of company proffits.

So rather than build a giant war chest, the compnay pays all share holders cash.

You get a statement saying how much your getting and it is despositied into your brokerage account or bank account.

Example cisco is paying about $1.04 per share in dividend.

I hold 1500 shares.

I get $1575 per year ( $393.75) per quarter.

Thanks

I've got a credit score of 687 per creditkarma.com (it says that's a fair score for having student loans and no credit cards). Is that true? is 687 a fair score? is credit karma reliable? what can I do to improve my score?

Thanks
