For starters there are very few native New Yorkers left that once gave New York it's character. It's now filled with super rich socialites, Hipsters (sorry Gavin), and tourists, so it has very little left of its social identity and feels like a big college campus filled with frat boys. Oh wait..NYU seems to own half of it, maybe it is a campus. Also, they pushed out every old established family run business that made the city interesting and historically relevant and replaced them with banks, high rise condos of glass and steel, and Starbucks. There are no more districts left like the fashion district, the radio and electronics district, the sex district, fuck even the South Street Seaport moved out because it no longer was being supplied by real local fisherman coming to sell at the docks by boat. There is nothing real left anymore except greed and materialism! It's crowded with people aimlessly walking around with selfie sticks on their way to the next Starbucks, H&M, or Lion King spectacular. It's Daddy's little rich kids living off their trust funds frolicking around being served by minimum wage servants.
