Long Hair Thread

Cutting it will only make it take longer to grow. Im growing mine out and ive only been getting microtrims to keep split ends in check

year or two of growth, had the ends trimmed couple of times but not properly styled, not sure what to do now

Hairs a few inches longer than the bottom pic at the moment, it's at the length where I can't really do shit with it so I'm thinking about getting it cut like I had it in 2 or 1.
Should I keep going, do one of the ones I've already done, or try something new?

My top hair looks good but the sides and back look shitty.
My top hair is currently going to the mid of my ears, so should I trim my sides and back regulary to look well, until my top hair reaches the lenght I want?

In all honestly dude, don't. In general, only turbo-Chads can pull it off. I cut my long hair that I've had for 5 years and I look a shit ton better without it, which sucks because I really liked having long hair. If you insist on growing it out, however, don't do anything. You'll just prolong the awkward stage.

Going for a 90's mop type thing, need to grow it out a bit more. Going for Leonardo Dicaprio Marvin's Room esque style. I'm letting it grow out as much as possible during this summer season.

Been growing my hair for a little over a year. I am on the fence on cutting it. It is very straight, thick and fine so I have tons of hair that is difficult to style and it usually falls flat and sits in my face. I have to brush it out 24/7.

I am debating just cutting it short because that's easy and I know how to make that look good. I am unsure if my face shape is suited for long hair. Originally my goal was to get it down to shoulder length and see how I feel but it is a lot of work. Any advice appreciated

Please read, I had a very similar thing happening and thought it was just bad genetics. But then I started going to a real hair stylist, not some bum at great clips. Whats happening is that the hair on the outer rim of your hair line is naturally more wavy than your other hair. Hairlines evolved like this so that the coarser, wavy hair could keep the straight hair behind it off of your face when it gets long. HOWEVER, modern hair stylists, when trying to cut and style mens short hair, cut the wavy hair on the rim to a very short length in order for you not to have to deal with it. This leads to it growing in disgustingly uneven. Honestly, I don't want to lie but it took almost two year for my short hairline hair to catch up with the rest, but I assure you its worth it.
