Been reading Thrasher since 99, so it pains me to say this, but NO. I don't know anyone in skating who doesn't support the mag, but a Thrasher shirt as a fashion statement is dumb. I'm glad outsiders buy the merch cause I know it's keeping the magazine in print, and Thrasher keeps skating from going full blown jock. Still, it's about as cool as skate shoes if you don't skate, not hurting anyone but not cool either.

It's technically a form of cultural appropriation. While it isn't bad that skateboarding companies are making bank from non-skaters, it certainly devalues skateboarding as a lifestyle into nothing more than a fashion statement. Like you have dudes literally killing themselves for their tricks and who give zero shits about what they wear (because chances are it'll get dirty, sweaty and ripped up anyway) and then some faggot in a thrasher t shirt thinks he's hot shit because he's scooting up and down the pavement on a plastic penny board? It's a real disservice to the culture

Yes, we do. Thrasher will always have a special place in every skater's heart, if you don't own at least one piece, and/or don't have a sub to the magazine you're blowing it. For posers it's just another statement logo, but for me, and the people I grew up skating with, and who I skate with today it's an almost religious thing to read a Thrasher Mag.

That being said, the quality on Thrasher gear is fucking garbage, and always has been. It's understandable why hypebeasts get Supreme, Huf, and FA, since their clothing is actually decent quality.
