One thing I noticed is I understand to be in a boy/girl band you HAVE to be a triple threat. Dancing/singing/"good looking" but kpop for even insync and fuck only aaron carter in BSB was handsome af. I haven't been to Korea, but my impression was that they're hypebeasts. I remember one Korean student in the US, asking in a frustrated tone, why Americans don't wear brand clothing.
I think using brands/logos as status is more common there, but korea has a huge underground alt fashion scene where they're not just repping brands like hypebeasts.
That being said, I still think the average person in seoul is more fashionable than the average person in a western major city.
