And anything moon related
And anything moon related
1st time making a thread in weeks
I've been looking for some Willhelm x Camper shoes in a not shitty colorway but I've been having zero luck so far. I think they could work for what we're going for.
Sweet baby Jesus in a hand basket, 145 $ for a multi textured T shirt.
Post some lunar shirts please.
well yeah, they're basically the og lunarcore meme shoe from years ago
which also means that you'll probably never find a pair...
I'd say the Y-3 warriors hold that title. They're not impossible to find. There's a couple on grailed right now, but not in my size. There's also some on eBay but they're not as interesting as the other designs out there.
What's a good backpack/bag? I was looking at a Patagonia atom sling, but other than that I'm stumped
Also this. I need good base layer ideas.
I've had difficulty finding lunar-esq basic t shirts.
Which is why I like to design them myself whenever I have time
I'd like to take some old shirts I don't fit and chop them up and sew them into something more lunar
I have a mountain of black shirts that don't fit
One more before my government issued coffee break is done..
Fresh cop bby
I'd fuck with that combat vest desu.
those are gstar right?
Just ordered pic related from H&M, probably going to look like shit in real life but fuck it, only $20
Has anyone ever tried meshing lunarcore with menswear?
Yep, they sure are. The fit feels pretty terrific desu.
implying chad would ever play dress up like an astronaut
implying that's dressing up
implying chads don't wear clothes like that in the year 2120..
You'll never be a ChadBot.
If looks like shit in the picture, too.
Don't beat yourself up
They look ok
Taper them a bit or just use the pullstrings and pair it with a good shirt and jacket and boots and you'll look good
And for $20 you could do worse.
How do I avoid biker aesthetic?
They look quite similar to me, avoid black?
Helps angels and lunarcore don't seem to look related to me..
I guess he means mora like a racing biker?
that doesnt look too bad desu. might be because its white but remove some racing patterns and he looks like a sexy stormtrooper
not necessarily that they're the goat lunarcore shoe, they're just the ones everyone sperged over back in the day
um, think again, sweaty ;)
Recently copped a vintage alpha industries MA-1 from an antique mall for $20, what to wear with it? Something that works with tall + very thin bodytype
This opening scene is so kino.
Ideally I’d like to spend no more than like $100 or $150 on a single item
Nice find! Slim grey cargos and some white or grey Palladium boots and you'll be solid. Pallabrouse baggy are a lunar staple and they're usually cheap. Got mine for $40 on Amazon.
Made me kek
What's the most Lunarcore car you can get? I think I'm gonna sell mine and get a C4 corvette. Official car of astronauts and it has one of the most Lunar dashboards I've seen.
lunarcore x bane
fuck was gonna post this pic
thinking about buying these. Idk look pretty sick for lunar core fit
i would cop them if it wasn't for that horrible zipper down the middle of the front. Why couldn't it be backzipped or sidezipped? :(
also these pants
mmm ye i get it but it doesnt really bother me that much honestly. They look dope with the laces
Get them they are dope
I like the front zip
nice pants. but would be doper in sage green or lighter shade of khaki
So uh.... do you guys really go out in this stuff?
Yes? Lunar core is the next hype. Look at how many big brands started making clothing based on this style.
If you would have said 5 years ago that big patches in your jeans would be a hype then ppl would have laughed at you aswell, same with at the denim jackets etc.
And most lunar core is basic stuff anyways.
Beige/grey colors. Cargo pants, bomber jackets, high boots/sneakers etc. Nothing weird, just the colors are different. If you would wear the same clothes in black you would look normal.
A white geo tracker
from the 90s
Where can I get a vest like the one Chad is wearing in the OP?
I dig Raeburn's stuff, especially the reused materials pieces
More military feel to the FW collection
All the time. It's really not that out there.
Fuck, those are actually sweet. I always thought that brand was some kind of goofy knock-off company for some reason. Those look pretty legit.
I've been wanting a C4 project for a while now. It was my dream car of mine when I was a kid. I've been thinking about getting an R32 recently now that they're easy to come by, but I'd scoop up a nice C4 if I could.
this shit looks stupid af
I rate the Raeburn personally, but I agree about that orange bomber here
I have a Mk3 Supra right now but Its just shitty. I want to buy another one but I think the C4 is a better car overall.
what would complete the look?
light gray bomber could work
lunarcore is part techwear, which is experiencing its moment right now, part milsurp, which is fairly timeless
i think one of the nice things about lunarcore is that it borrows from/is inspired by such a broad oeuvre from many decades, cultures, genres. so the style already has a story that's familiar to most and yet it's not confined to a strictly historical catalog...it's an evolving "costume" and one that is constantly redefined and very relevant to contemporary society.
now contrast that to americana, where the references are to an older era so it's more limited in it's space to experiment. that's not to say that backwards-looking styles are stale or don't allow for reinterpretation and creativity...it's more that this style accomplishes something cool, which is its very core quality of both looking backwards and forwards
i'm eyeing the uniqlo u ss18 wide fit cargos, think these could be used in conjunction with lunarcore?
also try vest, and one in a muted color, like dark blue. i think you'd want some contrast or visual intrigue to balance out all that beige!
Definitely need something to break up all of those similar colors. Are you looking to buy those pieces or is that what you've got to work with already?
Always wanted one of those so I could give it the 1JZ treatment. Ones in decent condition are impossible to find around here. Man, now I miss my AE86.
i think the knee pleats look ridiculous, and then if you tucked the bottoms into your boots you might end up looking like these guys
really, just get a pair of dad cargos from dickies or something...they're just as wide fit
Are you looking to buy those pieces or is that what you've got to work with already?
I've got some similar pieces, but I've never seen this kind of style before and it looks pretty cool. just need the shoes and some kind of vest or jacket or maybe some different joggers.
Can you do heavy black lunarcore
Anyone got black/dark color lunar inspo?
Wouldn't that just be techwear?
Tfw I made SpaceChad..
A grey or olive combat vest to break up the sand pallette
Or a bomber if you wanna be a basic bitch
Look at movies like Rogue One and Blade Runner
Lots of dark pallettes yet isn't techwear
Chad looks awesome
Thank you maam
Yeah that's kinda of what I'm thinking I wanna try and make a darker lunar fit without it just looking like tech wear
It could definitely be done I just need some inspo I'll post some fits for you guys if I pull it off
You look short
looks fine to me...but we large headed folk must stick together!
Is this a Suzuki Vitara?
I really wanna make a flight suit work but it just feel so larpy
I feel like they are too much for casual walking around but if you have to be outside in the cold for an extended time or have to do some dirty work outside yard work, snow shoveling etc then it fits perfectly and is super functional
I miss when lunarcore wasn't taken over by neets and it was still inspired by actual astronaut wear. Stark whites, blacks, orange and red. Now it's "alien, but rip off"
Post pre-neet fits
You got it buddy. I'm out drinking right now but tomorrow I can post a bunch I have saved on my pc. Like even a year ago lunarcore threads we're my favorite things on Veeky Forums.
I completely agree user. Lunarcore has gone to shit. instead of it being interesting and inspired it is now just cosplaying as a nu-starwars character. jump ship if you have any integrity.
Tie it around your waist and they're perfect for casual wear, They just look like bunched up cargos
those 'knee pleats' are just darts and already pretty common in a lot of bdu/cargo pants, really not comparable to breeches/jodhpurs and looks less wierd when being worn
Where is erryone?
this drkshdw could work
when the fuck is my flight suit coming in the mail rrreeeeee. like 2 weeks on order now. I am not the user who always talks about ordering one but I did order the same one. Can't wait to see how it goes and tailor/modify it. hope it doesn't look like shit.
what are these collars called? chimney necks or something?
sometimes sharp clean lines can look pretty lunar imo (ignore the ma1 pen pocket)
don't get stuck in a cargo pockets and zippers mindset!
funnel neck, though they come in many sizes
That's why we need more starwars inspo
Has a bit of everything
i know we're supposed to hate them because "WHITE PRIVILEGED MALE OPRRESSORS" but damn if the imperials didn't know how to dress
I've always loved the imperial empire
Cold War space race is where the best shit's at.
Space Station drug dealer
Hey lunarchan, I've got a high vis orange sweat wicking athletic shirt, I was thinking of how to DIY it for some lunar fits. Any ideas, maybe with some sort of nylon rigging or something over it? I'm kinda shit at designing clothes but looking for a winter break project.
I this user, tapered it and looks pretty exactly like which I posted before starting the project (pic rel). It absolutely does work tied off even with another jacket on the top, looking like exaggerated cargos but definitely workable. However with how bulky the top is, I don't think it'd work as full coveralls like said unless you have a VERY built upper body.
Same poster as , sorry I was out of the thread for a bit because of classes.
Damn bro, those have gotta be the coolest tees I've ever laid eyes on, but you're right about the price. I'd feel like an absolute fucking idiot wearing a tee shirt that expensive, even if I were a damn billionaire. A lot of people here might disagree, but I personally am in love with clothing that's both interesting/unusual looking AND cheap. If you're a model or whatever and you end up getting free swag through your job, yeah that's one thing, but forking over a hundred plus bucks for a fucking tee shirt, no matter how damn sweet it is, is just unthinkable. It's easily do-able for silver spoon millionaire faggot twinks to dress well, that's not even a fucking challenge, but the idea is to dress with STYLE, not simply with shit that costs a fortune. There are obviously talented designers only too happy to sell cool shit to dumb rich motherfuckers, but the rest of us have to figure out how to do it on the cheap. You wanna save the lion's share of your money for going out and enjoying life, after all
A Bricklin FV-1
seems like cargo joggers and funky white boots go well with the lunarcore style, but what kind of top goes with lunarcore?
Destiny is way more aesthetically appealing than star wars desu
The front zip is evocative of pilot boots which are front zipped because it makes them quick to put on and zippers don't get stuck on things like laces do when you eject
This appropriately captures the pedestrian-ness of lunarcore. Lunarcore is usually casual and functional, the goal isn't to dress like a space fighter pilot.
Then what core is space fighter pilot? That aesthetic is the shit.
the goal isn't to dress like a space fighter pilot.
the goal is to look like an off duty space fighter pilot
They got NASA socks at H&M. Grabbed a couple pairs.
yo same lmao got both those
obvious larping logo
I want that off-world jungle colony aesthetic
I honestly like the fit (especially those pants) but I can't unsee this.
This looks like a C4 had a baby with a Z31
But it's universe is tiny in comparison to Star wars meaning you can find a bit of every style since it's been around for decades
Geo trackers are perfect cheap cars for winter
Pic? I don't know what exactly it looks like
Can someone explain Lunarcore to me?
I don’t understand it as much. Is the point meant to look like you’re part astronaut part hype-beast? I don’t mean hype beast in a bad way, but it’s the only term I can drum up whenever I see the shoe choices.
Is there any underlying ideas for the choices? Whenever I think astronaut suits I think utilitarian. However, I cannot really connect these two together as well because of this. So I’m guessing it’s just based off of the color palettes and base theme? What’s up with all of the pockets in much of the clothing, and does it serve a purpose?
Recently the look has become a bit more formulaic with bomber/jacket, cargos, boots being the norm. That's fine but pretty bland considering the initial intent of lunarcore was to make people think for themselves and develop a look based around ideas and nebulous feelings rather than a set of choices.
I think ideally lunarcore is meant to evoke crewmen on a space freighter or residents of a harsh alien planet. Blue collar is the goal rather than some sort of sterile future utopian colony, which has been done to death in the media.
As for the shoes, tall utilitarian boots tend to fit the aesthetic well. It just so happens that Nike released a few hyped up sneaker boots recently that work in lunarcore fits. Some more hypebeast designers like KTZ have also released very futuristic spacey footwear in the past few years. If these have been adopted by the lunarcore crowd I think it's more because they have design details (ribbing, buckles, straps, height, palette) that fit with the look we're going for.
Pockets are just another common feature of utilitarian military clothing, which a lot of sci-fi costuming is based around. John Mollo, the costume designer for the first three star wars movies, was a military history buff with no costuming history prior to the trilogy. His use of military gear and inspiration from all across history influenced at least one generation of designers and captured the minds of most people who saw the films. For better or for worse cargo pockets are now a key feature in most sci-fi works. Lunarcore may choose to incorporate a lot of pockets that are not actually used but that's not really any different from Tom Dick or Harry on the street rocking a pair of cargo pants. You think he actually fills all those pockets?
It's like this, but not weirdly misshapen. It's a baselayer like material, with no branding.
Techwear is black waterproof lunarcore
That's not black. That's dark green.
No it's not..
I don't know if it'd fit everything, but the kabag from north face might fit into a modern space suit kinda theme, it'd be hard to blend the pure white with grey tones though
alien/star wars larpers
what is google image search
i don't know could you tell me?
but lol since im feeling nice they are moonstar rain shoes
i found those by right clicking on the image and searching for similar images btw
anyone else go similar looking t-shirts?
So I saw these while looking for something else and got to thinking that maybe boots that aren't all white are actually better
fuck yeah flight suits, I wish onesies in general would become more of the thing
Copped this orange jacket at good will for five bucks recommend some patches
Wow, that actually looks good and not autistic. Conglats.
You know what i agree even though i love the white shoes i think the bright colors on top with the darker shoes on bottom looks good. White shoes have their place and dark/black shoes have their place too
were'd you get those pants?
Could these count?
Heres some shorter blade runner boots
Found them second hand I can check the tag when I get a chance and look at who makes them
please do they look great
lurk around any lunar thread at all and those shoes pop up
Always reverse image search before asking, but you bumped the thread anyway
I also hit a gold mine of lunar-esq shit today at Vallue Village (thrift shop)
Found a FUCK ton of vests and jackets
But the coolest looking jackets were too small
I found a Julius looking womens winter jacket and if it was 2 sizes bigger I would've been able to fit it but sadly it was too smol..
Was a fucking amazing jacket, only $15 too
Oh well I got a FUCK ton of cool lunar vests and a couple of jackets and a grey waffle Henley
I even found some mechanic Jumpsuits, sadly they were either too smol, or WAAAY too fuckin big, I was pretty bummed out
But good haul none the less
I'll take pics tomorrow I hope
all these buzz words for some dumb shit from forever 21
And it wasn't the only thing there
Why are you mad?
something that's not beige, for a start
w2c the chink pants in this fit i forgot to ask before thread died
Imagine being that fucking short god damn.
jerking off imagining doing donuts in a crater on mars in this car modded to run electric w solar panels strapped to the top

Safety Vehicle 1
Trapped inside of the battery dies or malfunctions.
Guess you gotta pay the cost to be the boss.
pants are a brand called Structure looks like they went under a long time ago
think workwear, but instead of dressing like a wannabe early 20th century artisan, you're a mechanic or technician on a deep space freighter. its a dirty, 70's/80's sci fi look. DIY is encouraged. Cheap mil surp finds and yahoo japan auctions are encouraged.
mostly its a look you can pull off without spending too much $$, with pieces that you can get dirty and abuse. i like that
Found cool shit at thrift stores
Any more winter lunar inspo?
that sounds sick
Think this has potential?
for sure good budget bag take jansport off and slap on some patches
yea but why do most people just wear shitty bomber jackets and metallic pants? i don't see anything that actually looks like crewmen n stuff, though it wounds cool.
you spent $25 on a F21 jacket..?
Can no one read ITT??
Also started playing No Mans Sky that I rented for free from my library
Also some cool fits from the alien life forms
because it's been like three or four years since lunarcore threads were a common thing here
this new wave of posters don't have the same kind of background and knowledge so they show up into these threads and say 'this sounds cool how do I into lunar? bomber and cargos? got it'
there are a few great people here discussing and providing inspo but it does take time and effort to build an outside the box wardrobe or even one fit
most of the actual fits posted here are from people trying to establish a basic starting point
I figure if productive discussion keeps up we'll eventually start to see more interesting fits from people
it's cool that you're voicing your ideas and opinions though
keep it up
that's what drives things forward
What're some films with good inspo?
off the top of my head:
2001: A Space Odyssey
Logan (The Reavers)
okay, you spent $15 on a f21 jacket...?
thanks for being supportive, good shit man.
i'm trying to find movies and shit that seem similar, i think i remember seeing a lot of more illustrated, anime-esque portrayals than live-action -- do you know what i would search for?
I love this thread so much. This is so fresh and new compared to that tryhard techwear crap. Thanks for being so awesome, everyone.
Space Hunter: adventures in the forbidden zone is a pretty bad movie from the 80s basically a sci fi ripoff of mad max but it had a decent budget and the costuming and production design is great.
the white flightsuit/jumpsuit from Enemymine is another great costuming achievement.
I unironically love the buck rogers in the 25th century costumes.
for me, the jury rigging DIY and creative aspect of lunarcore is the most compelling part of this style. which is somewhat antithetical to a lot of these guides... i mean, they are ok as a launching off point but the style naturally invites imagination so it's a shame if people just stop after acquiring a bomber and cargo pants.
i would highly recommend thrift stores as a way to get into this style. in part because you can find some relevant 80's and 90's era pieces for dirt cheap in the forgotten pile, and a lot of influences came out of those periods. but also because recycling random pieces and figuring out how they all work together is, at least to me, essential to what i think lunarcore is all about
No, just found it, it was too small
Great color, I love sand/bone color
And $15 for a jacket is a fucking steal
You are 100% right
I went to the thrift shop the other day in the 1st time in months and months
And I was bombarded with a plethora of mens and women's bomber jackets, 70s/80s/90s jackets and vests, and shirts
Even found ill fitting mech jumpsuits
Here I'll do piece by piece of what I bought
Excuse the lighting and whatnot it's very late right meow
*ALIEN saga esp 1 & Covenant
*Star wars primarily 4/5/6 but there's some inspo in 1/2/3 as well
And ive seen little bits and hints of inspo in generic sci fi/action movies like Guardians of the galaxy, escape from NY and movies like that
Cowboy bebop had some cool stuff
As well as Trigun
Ummm and a plethora of 80s B-list sci fi movies and shows
Here's a late 70s/early 80s vest
White vest i found
Here it is reversed
Found this little gem too
And the last one..
My fur lined bomber i found for $15
I REALLY needed a decent winter coat and there were other "experimental" winter coats at Value Village but i needed something that didn't require a FUCK ton of tailoring
bro those look like ski boots lol
Now I just need to get a bunch of base layers like sand/lite & drk grey/ lite & dark olive/ and white & black waffle henleys and t-shirts
And some heavily moddified thrifted cargos and jeans..
THEN I'll have a decent lunar wardrobe...
I think I want to make some patches out of these..
I love this thread so much. This is so fresh and new compared to that tryhard techwear crap. Thanks for being so awesome, everyone.
Lunardust can act like snow!
Where's your emoji?
Thnx but I have a feeling it's gonna start to become mainstream in the next few yrs.
I just like dressing like a space pirate and wondered why society hadn't caught up to the sci fi movies of old.
I also like the cross over between milspo and lunarcore, most of my pieces can be interchangeable with pure milspo outfits so I don't have to wear just one style
such awesome finds...i have been wanting to incorporate vests for a while now and i think this might be the thing that finally pushes me into doing it. which area value village are you finding these in? i cant recall vests being very common (here in sf bay area)
I'm in the Canadian Prairies near Montana and N.D
Usually I don't find shit this good
There was some stuff that I might still get like some of the jackets and women's vests
The white one is a womens white vest from joe fresh
I like how the women's vests are more cropped which shows the t-shirt or long sleeve and contrasts varying lengths giving a fit more dimensions
Where did everyone go?
Oxygen went out, all dead
Recent fit. Was going for an Alien sort of vibe. These julius pants are hands down the comfiest pair of pants I own now. They feel like pajamas but feel durable at the same time.
Vintage Avirex jacket
H&M hoodie and t-shirt
Julius gas mask cargos
Not sure what the boots are
To the user that was asking about sf1s, they fit TTS and the 3m laces look like lasers.
If someone could ID these things that'd be awesome. The inner tag is totally faded and I can't find a logo anywhere. I got them because I thought the details around the ankle were cool but they're actually really solid boots, so win win.
nice fit bruv really dig it i love when people post actual fits they own
so i have pants that taper pretty similarly, meaning they are almost leggings in the calf area except that they're long enough to stack kind of like what you have going on here.
do you find that the stacks migrate throughout the day? i end up having all the stacks bunch up down at the cuff, and then this area between the calf and knee is like skintight and look pretty bad. how do you get the stacks to look like that?
Kinda looks like Belleville mini mils
can reproduction GATS be lunarcore?
They tend to work their way down throughout the day, but I just readjust every now and then. I have a couple other pairs of gas masks that are slimmer and have stiffer material and those stacks tend to stay where I want them. Gravity is going to do its thing, but I think the best best is a long inseam and stiff material.
There's also this imgur post I saw. Dude duct tapes the inside of his jeans to maintain stacks. Pretty damn goofy, but I'm sure it works.
So I looked those up and they are Bellevilles, but another model called Khyber. Thanks for the lead, user.
lol that seems ridiculous but on second thought, i have a jacket with elasticated sleeves that stacks super nicely on the arms...and that's basically just an elastic band sewn inside the same way the tape is.
yeah my pants are long but stretchy, and i think short of starching the stacks or something, this structural hack will actually work. besides what is more lunarcore than duct tape and clothes lol. thanks for the suggestion!
lazy outfit with the pants in question. i think they're either too tapered or my calves are too big - so the stacking is pretty necessary to redeem the pants
Just got the shit for my fit together.
THese could also be lunacore
would look a lot better with distressed t
anyone know where I can find clothes with that top color pallet
ok as per outlander's suggestion, i did a (very bad) tape job on one leg, and then moved around a little to see how well the taped stacks would hold up. pretty good! i used lab tape instead of duct tape (only thing around) and it didn't hold very well. ill try again with real duct tape when i get home
in case it's not obvious, the left leg in the picture is the taped one. the migrating stack issue is obvious on the right leg - i end up having my weirdly blocky calf (gf wont let me skip leg day) stick out once the stacks dissipate. but im calling it a success. i only taped along the seams, but im sure if i do the whole leg, it will be even more resistant to stack movement.
ah a classic
forgot to mention
I think so. Some MMM high tops would be even cooler.
I'm with you. I've been meaning to distress some myself lately, but all my projects keep getting pushed back because of work and the holidays.
I think duct tape will definitely look better, but it's cool that it worked. Another thing you can do is tuck your pants into your socks when you wear boots. Looks cool and it'll push up the bottom of your pants a little bit higher so it will help with the stacks. I usually have my socks a little over an inch above the top of my boots.
think it'd look nicer without the red strap on jacket. looks decent though. Maybe some lighter coloured pants?
cargos, boots, jacket, durr am spash man.
work on your boot tuck game. try and clean it up. maybe go the socks over pants route. is that a lanyard or something on the side there that is red? red detailing will make this fit.
Look for faded maroons/browns/dirt colors as well as blueish greys and the like
I feel like i want to keep the lanyard and flight tag, go with a red accenting theme (like said), and maybe get these af1's down the line to complement the look. Lighter pants are definitely next item on the list though
tfw you squat heavy and have hueg thighs
My leg game needs all sorts of work though, I'm in the middle of a midwinter cut, hopefully it helps. Thanks for the tip though, I'll try that out.
Like the one user said, were getting to a point where most of us that were here a month or 2 ago are finally getting most of our pieces in and starting from the basic "lunarfit" and I think once most of us have our basics for this very specific wardrobe you'll start to see us getting funky weird pieces from milsurp and thrift stores
Actually I think I'm the only one here who went shopping and bought lunar vests
I don't like jackets as much and always liked the look of cargo or combat or space looking vests that are cropped with a med/long ish t-shirt or long sleeve and have that space pirate look
Like from Titan A.E, or Treasure Planet, etc.
shit bro tell me more about that white hoodie
Heavy squater here to bro. Why are you cutting? Why would anyone cut? Get huge and hit PRs m8. seems like you have a fashion victim mentality of having to wear tight slim clothing but since you are built that is really not flattering. Go up a size in pants you probably have developed glutes and your ass in those cargos make you look like your are presenting for actual Veeky Forumsggots.
The color scheme on those AF1s is nice but AF1 have been played out since like 2003 m8. The cringiest shit ever is how hard they are pushed on this site. I am convinced it was a forced meme troll that caught on.
goofy vests. maybe you can make them work. a long t shirt underneath would look shit. go high waisted pants with a short t shirt. you don't want the vest to layer over the shirt or sweater that will look goofninja rickfag shit. here is some inspo.
98 dollars on 511's site, made from ripstop, probably super fucking tough. might have to cop for muddy days when i don't wanna scuff up my af1's
squats are for filthy gravity well gorillas
zero g low bone mass aesthetics
Fug, it was some random athletic gear piece that I picked up at a Winner's, I can't remember what brand it was. I'll check after I'm off work.
At the very least, I've got a gut that I'd like to get rid of. And you may be right about the AF1s, but I still love the way they look. Got any lunar mid-rise sneaker alternatives?
Got any lunar mid-rise sneaker alternatives?
no help there sorry. I would avoid the AF1s also because you are a big guy and they will make you look bigger and shorter since they are big. I would say just really dial in those palladiums. tighten the laces really tighh. something about how you are wearing them with your pants just doesn't look right. might be your passive cucky hand in pocket stance. since you are a bulky guy you need to stand in a powerful stance. you want to convey a message that you could put a beating on someone. that is the key to all menswear.
Actually I think I'm the only one here who went shopping and bought lunar vests
I did thrift some weird vest/short-sleeved jacket recently. Also pic is just to show off the vest really. Want to use this again with an interesting shirt and some white shoes.
I fucking love this
I can't wait till I have some tapered cargos and some basic long sleeves
I dont want Tricky Ricky long, I just hate super short t shirts and a fitted medium slightly longish shirt with a cool lunar vest and cargos and boots or sneakers would be a cool fit and a little bit different from the generic lunar fit
Cropped vests helps to play with dimensions and feel
I'd like to get more "out there" and "sci fi" pieces instead of just cargo stuff
More Starwars and less Alien for me even though I live gasmasks and boots
Brand's Bench, but I can't find it anywhere. It might be a women's hoodie, I can't tell for sure.
Are BSG undershirts acceptable as lunarcore baselayers
Rec on pants and jacket pls
It might be a kinda weird question, but...
Could one pull off a Hawaiian shirt+ T-shirt combo in a lunar fit? If yes, then how so?
i suppose a question you should be asking is, why are you attempting this combo? on the surface, i'd say no, that shirt wouldn't make much sense with a lunar style. hawaiian shirts just kind of connote a very different time/sensibility than a stereotypical lunar outfit.
now if you were doing it to purposefully play on the contrast, then maybe...but you'd have to really be very clearly contrasting it with pants/boots that are super lunar and distant from the hawaiian theme. there's always the risk that people won't "get it" and just see the outfit as disjointed.
that being said, i think this shirt would work lol. if it's good enough for the ESA, it's good enough for lunar
Because I love that space tourist feel, I was thinking that maybe with a standard lunarcore backpack, baggy cargo pants/ nylon pants or shorts and a patch or two on the T-shirt it'll create a nice functional lunar fit for summer, idk tho
space tourist! right on, i actually just drank this the other day and really loved the art design
it's lunar for sure, but different from the typical lunar. which is a good thing imo...we shouldn't get complacent with the style when there's such a diversity of influences
thanks for reminding me about retro space styling
lots of potential there
No problem brah, I too find it very inspiring
there's a very cool 30's-50's retro feel where hawaiian could definitely fit in
pan am has a great catalog of both tropical and retrofuturistic space advertising
oops here is the pan am ad
Thanks! Haven't looked into this one yet, but that'll surely provide some ideas
hmm now how to pull it off with a hawaiian shirt, specifically? really depends on the pattern and color, and hawaiian shirts can be quite restrained to insanely campy, so it's tough to say without having an image of the shirt. i think the buttons may be problematic...haven't found many reference images from that era with button up shirts. a lot more of them had like this polo shirt looking thing, that's very fitted. if you can find a hawaiian polo it might be easier to adapt. but again, the pattern is important, and tricky. it shouldn't be so bold as to become the focal point of the outfit, but more like an element that adds to the mood, i think?
it's a good challenge to think about...i can definitely see where the influences cross. now i have a thousand tabs open with retro space pictures!
This is an absolutely sick jacket my man
Took my rainjacket to the tailor. He's gonna make it a bit shorter and because he can't find buttons for the hoodie, he'll take them off and put a zipper on there. Can't wait to see how it's gonna look.
Yeah man. I'd love to see some lunarsleaze. Make sure your other pieces are already getting the idea across, then work your Hawaiian shirts in.
Should look sweet. Especially with those Nikes you just got.
All this hawaiian shirt talk and someone FINALLY posts the alien fit..
can I be lunarcore?
This story still makes me rage
some Star Wars aesthetic bump
looks good except YOU DONT NEED MUSCLES IN LOW G, WELWALA
in space no one can hear you REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
If you have to ask that then no.
It looks like something from Alpha Industries but I could be wrong
that show should be must watch for all of /lunar/
Am i /fa enough?
I don't get how this is lunar in anyway. Did you post in the wrong thread?
a bomber jacket definitely completes the outfit, but it's left me wondering. how can you pull off this look in summer?
Looose flight suit tied around the waist, pale milsurp tank top, and big orange visor sunglasses.
so I bought those aliexpress pants (pic related) and unlike the other user who got them they fit great. will hopefully get some pics in a few days, lighting inside my apartment is too shit.
Lunar vests are your friends
simple, take off the jacket lul
and as for pants, go with cropped pants or long shorts (past the knee). you could fold over the boots too, if those are the baggy ones
i may try this come summer
Looose flight suit tied around the waist
I see you have autism.
w2c mono white pf flyers?
What's wrong with flight suits?
You realize this is a lunarcore thread right?
I found these in my fashion folder
fuuuuUUCKK. I want the rattan variety but they're sold out online everywhere in 12 so. On the prowl or smthn...
I ordered them too, and they should be coming in the mail any day now. Guess we'll get a pretty wide spread of reviews for /lunarcores/ official meme pants.
double dubs confirm greatness.
i copped a nice jumpsuit/mechanic suit and thinking if i should slim taper the legs and arms.
looks good trevor
Want this jacket but i'm worried i'll look too try hard. advice?
yeah id stay away from that NASA stuff. it's trending now but it's like lunarcore ed hardy and is honestly pretty lazy. if you really want to go that route, get a normal ma1, attach some velcro tape (loop side) to it, and then you can put on whatever patch you like instead of being stuck with NASA. kind of like this, but maybe do it more artfully than a big ass square.
Whats the jacket from the giger set? Its definitely nothing like an MA-1 but I really like it.
I'm not into this style at all but I thought I'd drop by the thread to congratulate you guys on keeping an extremely niche fashion subculture alive for this long without it turning into a laughing stock like techwear did. Especially those of you who have been around sonce the OG lunarcore threads years ago. Keep it up, lunarcore is pretty cool.
lunarcore is for fucking nerds who want to cosplay
i can be your angle...
or yuor devil,, >:-o
Cop or not?
Its kinda more on the techwear side but it looks kinda spacey.
Other than sand there is olive which Im mostly also thinking about as well as black, dark blue and dark grey.
Also what color hoody would you recommend with this if Im wearing black trackpants and white sneaker/boots? Rather go white for more contrast or black to match the pants?
take of the Alpha strap and the thing hanging at your waist, get a hoodie that's a few shades darker.
i think it's because we nerds who dabble in this actually have an authentic interest and literacy in this "culture" whereas techwear is mostly...hype? unless you are really into textiles and sewing, i feel like most techwear fans just are enamored with the idea of doing urban taekwondo with errolson hugh and so that's not the strongest foundation for an enduring interest
but then again i probably take "lunarcore" why so seriously ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
there's a hint of self-aware irony in it. but we'll be the ones laughing when we're all forced offworld and we've already gotten a leg up (except prosthetic dude, sorry) on wardrobe over the rest of you!
i think it looks okay
its most spacey feature, to me, is its high collar (from the hood). pic related. but careful, a lot of these product images are propped up and pinned to give the illusion of structure. but when it's on body, it kind of ends up looking floppy.
Thanks for the input and advice. Do you like the sand one better or pic related? Considering black pants im tending towards sand for the extra contrast, but on the other hand considering white boots, it might be too much contrast...
How's this jacket?
Greg Lauren. A lot of his stuff is overdesigned and overdistressed, even for lunarcore, but these are pretty great.
Theopphilus London LVRS x Surface to Air reversible bomber
nice detailing but the patches are a bit much imo
I like it
I want a rattan colorway fit on someone who's 5'10 - 5'11 and I'll cop.
I live in the midwest of Canada
And I see grown men larp as cowboys all the damn time, it looks weird and costumey but no one seems to bat an eye
So I figure if they can play dress up as a cowboy why cant i do the opposite and dress up as an industrial utilitarian citizen from a distant future?
In some cases it looks alot less out of place than a full blown cowboy larp imo.
