for the brogue wingtip, it's way too rough looking. Go for a more refined brogue, or even no brogue at all, just a simple cap toe. And for gawd's sake, never get anything with workwear soles for a dress shoe.

as for chelseas, somthing with a sleeker shaft and a less bulky toecap. And no work wear soles here, either. Also, the less ornaments the better for Chelseas imo.

Cheers for the advice, I haven't been looking at the sole that much before but I'll keep in mind now. By workwear soles you mean materials like rubber and plastic that aren't of good quality, right?

not every glossy leather shoe is dressy. That one is some gothlolita core kinda cosplay item, which is fine. Just not as formal footwear. If you can't tell that right from the get go, you do have some catching up to do, unless you rarely need to dress formal, in which case nevermind.
