Yes, but define end.
We're still evolving, and with the theory that by 2040-2050, humans can "download" their mind into a computer, advancements in cyber genetics/enhancements, eventually biological humans will be a dying breed

We'll either exhaust our resources or environment. Or due to overuse of antibiotics, we'll encounter a bacterial infection that will kill many of us off, like the plague.

In fire.

Nuclear weapons will become easy to make and some cultists decide to blow up everything.

>mfw all these edgy downers

Humanity will end when we transform ourselves into something greater.

>something greater
like what ?

Why would you want that faggot?
The only salvation is for us to live in space because at this rate we will destroy our only home just for economic gain.
Also refugees will start streeming into northern europe when droughts start to hit, you can already see the start at southern europe, california and the expanding sahara desert expanding.

>calls other people edgy
>subscribes to Nietzschean ubermensch lollery

>like what ?

I don't know. But we're entering the age where it is possible to directly and deliberately steer our own evolution, via genetic engineering. It's only a matter of time before we use that to make ourselves smarter, more long-lived, etc., and from there, the possibilities are so vast that it's almost pointless to speculate.

>like what ?

Internet Nanomachines

All new creations in Christ Jesus (Christians) will go with God back into eternity.

All base human beings will be confined in the outer darkness with satan and his demons for eternity.

None of us "end".

Humanity will always hold a place in the universe and the only we humans will ever truly go extinct is through evolution into greater beings.

replaced by one of its creations

bump

It is ending right now my lad

>tfw people still believe in the "muh singularity" technology-worship cult

I legitimately don't understand why this meme hasn't died, its like a zombie

...

The last human to ever live will die of starvation, dehydration or disease. Before we leave the solar system, we will run out of clean drinking water and food.
There won't be a single big reason, but the fall of humanity will be multicausal, complicated and drawn out.

>Run out of water

You do realize that the water doesn't disappear when we drink i? We piss it right back out into nature again.

The majority of the world's aquifers will be entirely depleted within 50 years.

Either:

Cataclysmic extinction event or world ending event
Slow evolution into something not human. Most likely some type of machine.

Humanity is part of nature, and nature always stabilizes itself. If there isn't enough food or drink to support the human population, then the population will start to decrease until it reaches a supportable level.

With a whimper.

It'll peter out a few hundred (or a few thousand, even) years after some natural agent makes life unsustainable, probably as part of some ELE.

If we stay on earth it will be climate change, collision with a stellar object, gamma ray burst, or the sun swallowing the earth.

If we leave earth it will be entropy that kills us in a slow and cold universe.

I forgot to mention killer AI because lol maymays. This can happen at any moment.

>At any moment

Via rage-induced le maymay shitposting.

Underrated

You realize aquifers replenish themselves right? You realize aquifers are not the only source of water right? You realize most of the planet if covered in the stuff right? You realize it literally falls out of the sky right?

>He doesn't realize that the majority of the world's agriculture is irrigated via aquifers

But no, its alright, keep on talking about subjects you have literally never researched or looked into.

>nature always stabilizes itself

The natural/anthropogenic division isn't completely arbitrary.

You realize that not all water is drinkable right ?
I want to see you try drinking untreated or salt water.

In some sort of weird socialism

meme wars break the internet and massive suicides lead to extinction

Hmm yes then it makes perfect sense that the last human will die of dehydration. (You're a fucking idiot.)

>not libertarianism

fixed desu

You realize that drinkable water is continually produced naturally, right? You realize that desalination exists, right?

I hope that you understan that naturally it takes a pretty long time also water is needed heavily for agriculture as youcan't keep throwing shitty water on your land unless you want to make it unusable after a few years.

On their knees. Praying to nonexistent gods when some religious fanatic unleash nuclear armageddon to fulfill some stupid bronze age prophecy.

Slowly and dirtily

>implying it won't be for secular reasons such as economic gain.

Dude what if we engineered crops that desalienated themselves

>I hope that you understan that naturally it takes a pretty long time

What takes a pretty long time? Rain?

It is literally impossible to run out of water.

Religion overload, christian-muslim war and regressive left stupidity gonna destroy us all long before that.

How would you do that ?

I'm talking about water already on the ground also rain isn't guaranteed everywhere desert don't have a lot of rain and they keep expanding.
This isn't in issue only in far off shitholes but southern european countries also start to get trouble with it.
Let alone that rain water isn't always safe to drink either if you want to die early you can drink whatever comes out of the sky though.

I think religious threats are overrated if anything basic human greed will fuck us up.

You might be right because human greed and/or stupidity is the source of all religions.

Genetic engineering, I mean. Of course I dont know exactly how, but I imagine its possible to protect cells against salt, or to make them grow only in extremely salty conditions. Although perhaps it would still be a problem with crystallized salt blocking roots and leaves or something.

Extreme salty environments would dry the plants out I think but its more trouble than its worth that's probably why it hasn't been done yet.

>Dude just build new crops lmao
>water is eternal bruh
>Stay positive and bee yourself

It's not more trouble than it's worth, gengineering is just extremely difficult for complex changes, but the biotech fields are advancing extremely rapidly. If we could do it it would be retardedly useful, its not like a moon base where we can do it but just have no reason to.

People will get nano-implants because it will be "hip and cool to browse the net with your mind" and the system that controls the implants will malfunction at some point and kill everyone's brain. The rest of the population that won't want to be augmented will most likely die because of religious/nuclear wars or disseases.

Impossible

From an airborne chimera virus.

Youre funny.

>We
>Transform
>Ourselves
Lol you're not involved in any of that you'll just be reaping the fruits of the few decent folk around. Don't act like you're any good because someone else is, piss off lad

When the world ends be sure you might not even notice.

In its own bed, at the age of 80, with a belly full of wine and a girl's mouth around its cock.

Praise the Omnissiah!
