Third Rome

Let's settle this once and for all.

strawpoll.me/10511727

Could you please remake this poll but choosing cities instead of countries?
I don't feel comfortable answering it as it is.
Many thanks

do it yourself mane

>no "Rome is dead" option
Garbage poll

The only three Romes were Rome, Napoleon's Empire and Hitler's Reich

Rome is eternal.

There was only Rome and New Rome (Byzantine Constantinople). All other "third Rome" wannabes are idiotic, especially the Moscow one.

>Hitler's Reich
I don't have any pics of people laughing that'd be good enough for this post

There are only two conditions to be a Rome

1. Conquer Europe
2. Have standards with cool golden eagles on the top

As you can see on the pic above, only Napoleonic France and Nazi Germany fit the bill

>Finland at 20%

The memes have gone too far.

>1. Conquer Europe
HAHAHAHAHAAAHAHAHAAHAHAHHAAHHHHAHAAHAAAAHHAHAHAHHHAHAHAAAAHAHAHAHAH

Technically it should be spain

Rome died in 476. Everyone after that is just Romeaboos.

No, Rome really died in 1204. Everyone else after that is just wannabes.

There's a difference between Third Rome and a modern analog to Rome you fucks

>Hitler's reich
Hitler was socially conservative, most Romans would despise him considering how much roman men loved sodomising each other. Romans also used to allow conquered people to keep their culture 99% of the time, and didn't exterminate them.

>no glorious Holy Roman Empire
Also, Napolean is invalid because he fucked up the ceromoney instead of letting his Holiness do it.

rome=catholic church

I voted for Italy but now I regret it. I consider Italy an heir of Rome but if anything Russia is the one worthy of the title of "Third Rome". It's all about terminology.

Why does there need to be a Third Rome, when Second Rome still exists?

The second Rome is Constantinople which got destroyed in 1453 and officially renamed by Turkish officials in the 20's. Also any inheritance that it might've had was destroyed when the Ottoman Empire collapsed during and after WW2.

>got destroyed
If anything they fixed it up. The Hagia Sophia collapsed twice during Byzantine rule. The Turks added reinforcing elements (as well as generally fixing it up) and it has not collapsed once since.

I'm not talking about just physically. Constantinople as capital of the Byzantine or Eastern Roman Empire which made it the legitimate 2nd Rome got destroyed.

There is no third Rome. Holy Roman Empire ended in 1806, Russian Empire ended in 1917, and Ottoman Empire ended in 1923.

How can you forget about Finland? :DDDDDDD

Not a successor to the Russian Empire
