Objectively best national anthem of all time
I know what it is without opening it. There is no other choice. Everyone agrees. It was so good they kept it even after the Soviet union collapsed.
When I was a little kid I knew if I heard this it was going to be a really good hockey game
Renaissance English stuff is the best
Anyone know of anything that's entered the music subconscious or become a leitmotif without it being popular enough to know the name of?

Outdated now but God they helped me in high school
Seems like the most relevant thread in which to ask this question:
I really enjoy songs like "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down" or "Allentown" by Billy Joel, which lament the fading of ways/systems of life. I grew up in a rural farming community that had its prosperity and sense of community eroded by a combination of industrialized agriculture, outsourcing, and Vermont's welfare state flooding the town with parasites and those kinds of songs really strike a chord with me.
Also, "The Downeaster Alexa" by Billy Joel is one of my favorite songs.
