Bought this watch for £60, what's the difference between a brand like this and DW?

Just got this in the mail, a Braun 3812 AW12.
Paid €65, pretty happy with it even though it has a little scratch.

Yeah they used to advertise it with the Bauhaus aesthetic which I like.
I try to look for the smaller vintage models from when they were still made in Germany. Nowadays the production is in China, the faces are bigger and they’re quite expensive for quartz watches.

The lugs are a bit too long and straight, but I guess that was an intention. Otherwise I like it a lot. It's simple yet tooly. Does the seconds hand hit the markers?

The second hand doesn’t hit the markers, but that seems to be a problem for all these older models. Same goes for this one.

Thanks. The blue hand is for an extra ring of numbers that indicate all 24 hours, I guess so you can tell wether you’re on am or pm.

It's cool watch for what you'll be paying, just have in consideration that the strap will be some plastic crap, don't expect anything near what's in the photo.

its meant to be used for a second time zone. its for business men who frequently fly, so they can check what time it is at home and the time where they are quickly

And the bezel can be used to approximate third time zone. It's neat.

I think they're great entry level Swiss watches. Had a "Classic" quartz model for close to a decade before copping a Visodate. Both solidly built, incredibly reliable and easy to pair with virtually any fit.
