Anyone know any good jeans for Europeans in sub-200€ territory with a high rise and tapered leg? Not looking for anything skinny, I want jeans I could use with a tweed sports coat for fits like those from Drake's.

My best bet thus far has been Brute Knut from Nudie Jeans, I think they're supposed to be anti-fit but for my legs and ass, they sure fit great. The thing is, Nudie doesn't sell them anymore, so I have to find something else. Right now I have some LVC 501's 1954 coming in the mail, hope they would fit somewhat well.

Yeah, vintage 4 life. 100% cotton are the best. As high as high rise goes, and peg leg (as in thin on the bottom). I thrift for Lee and Wrangler and if I can come across Versace or D&G much better. There are some other vintage American who-brands that have excellent jeans too. As for colors, 90s light indigo is the best, black is a must and then there are options. High 80s acid wash is fun, as well as all-over prints or aplique ones.

I just got some Dior jeans from Grailed, they're tighter than I was expecting and short. I'm 6'3 65KG (130lbs) my iPhone 8 also does not fully fit into the front pockets. Is this normal? They do fit my waist but it feels like I bought girl jeans.

To be fair I bought mine years ago tossed the mexican ones after they started fading, got the egyptian ones on sale for 12 bucks new, those are still going strong after around 2 years of solid use.

I never did the whole sit-in-the-tub thing but I did put my first pair of raw STFs in my laundry room tub filled with very very hot water for about half an hour. Left them out to dry afterwards and started wearing them after that. Also just got another pair of 501 STFs a week ago in black but decided I was gonna try and wear them hard for a few months before soaking (or washing) them to see if I get any different results with fades. I also have a pair of "original fit" stonewash 501s in rotation which are probably the most flattering flattering jeans I've ever owned.

Armani jeans/armani exchange are good if you can get past the metal eagle badge on the back right pocket. Their fits can be a bit on the slim side, including their roomiest fit the j31, which would fit like a Levi’s 513 slim straight. They also can hold up forever. I still have armani pairs from 2011 that are still in excellent condition.

Other brands with decent jeans are diesel, replay, prps, Edwin, Levi’s, guess, g star, scotch and soda, versace jeans, acne studios and Roy Rogers

Picked up some Lucky Brand slim fit on deep discount a few weeks ago and I've been pretty happy with them.

Fuck raws. I've had several pairs ranging from 10oz to 16oz and they are always ball-crushingly low rise and feel like they're made out of fucking plywood. Wearing them in the summer is unbearable. And fuck wearing a pair of pants for 1year+ without washing them - they'll fucking reek. You may not notice the smell because you've become used to it.. but other people will smell that shit. I'm not wearing a pair of uncomfortable pants that smell like shit for a year straight without washing them just for the "sikk fadez". It wasn't until I bought a pair of Acne's with some elastane stretch in them that I re-evaluated my life choices and realized what I'd been missing out on.

Theres plenty of high rise raws now and a lot of times people just size poorly for their build. The no wash for a year is a huge meme and “contrast fades” are lame af. Elasatane does make things super comfy and for black skinny cuts thats my go to. Out of curiosity what denims did you try?

There are ways to combat the smell without washing them. In my experience the "put them in the freezer" bullshit is just that, bullshit, but hanging them up outside in the sun to air out really helps, and the trick where you spray them with vodka actually works too. That said, I don't fucking wear raws anymore, that's way too much work for a fucking pair of pants, although I could see myself doing that for a nice denim jacket I planned to wear for years (although to date I haven't gotten around to it).

Levis 501. The only jeans that survive past a year for me.
