These were some awesome threads when they popped up, but its up to everyone else to support and add to the conversation and expand. Y'all let me down by letting these fade out last time.
Brand listing was not meant to be exhaustive, if the execution fits in with the vibe then it fits in. I'll let a few others chime in, but I can certainly add them in with the next thread.

You're better off there than here. 99% of Veeky Forums can't afford any of the labels you mentioned and don't have any real interest in the designers.

>A Diciannoveventitre >Guidi I don't find these to be "dark" designers, they use black but any good designer would. THese are just beautiful refined punk and distressed looks. I will check out some of the other ones you names though out of interest since I havenet seen people mentions the two I named often on here. Btw if you like the two I meantioned check out: Fiorentino and Baker Moma officine creative As98 measponte

The real choice to make is : do you want to stay here with an active but autist / unknowledgeable one, or go over there with a dying but knowledgeable community and a bigger autist than any Veeky Forumsggot, in the person of Faust ?
Hudson Price
best thread in the catalogue by a mile bump
Colton Reed
>go over there with a dying but knowledgeable communit well why is it dying? I just looked at the threads it said (20) viewing, and all the threads are old threads started in 2006. that one waywt thread is the only one and it started in 2006 or 2011. it seems like no one posts there at all. but it has the right subforums, like "fashion talk" etc, fashion philosophy. the problem is that people who talk deeper into fashion are just a minority, they are the designers, the smart people with real creative abilities and abbility to comprehend deeper macro concepts. the majority will always be people are just in to trying to look good and or think they look good and are just the consumers of Fashion.
why do you say it is dying btw. why is it?
Carter White
I dont like the name of it ieither 2bh. Zeitgeist? it makes me think of Alex jones and that guy, who made the movie zeitgeist, which is the most boring mainstream anti-anti idea, it's like some conformist socialist utopia idea, and it has geist in it, it just sounds gay. just being honest. i wouldnt want to regularly be a on a site that had that name it's cringey.
to get traffic and an actual legit creative intellgent artistic community, you have to give them a sell point, what is in it for them. if you are truly into improving your Fashion ability and it's a passion of yours then you want somewhere where people will help you develop it and you will help them
Lincoln Kelly
Can someone explain why ma+ belts are so ridiculously expensive?
Why is any clothing brand expensive ever? Why do FoG jeans retail for 1k? You could ask that question about any number of brands or specific items. At the end of the day the price is whatever their target demographic is willing to pay and perceives as appropriate for the product being offered.

received isablel benenato trousers today, I fr*gging love them and ann d blazer a while ago, will have to see if I actually end up wearing it though, never felt that comfortable casually rocking one
Asher Russell
If you have the ability to take some good photos of the items & some of their detailing that would be really awesome, maybe talk about how they fit on the body and stuff
Landon Bennett
What is that translucent jacket?
Chase Cruz
Parachute vest. The jacket is hidden in the vest in an interior pocket.
Evan Cooper
This could be cool if it incorporated elements of horror. Like, classic tacky horror. Mummies, vampires, clowns, Stephen King stories...
Kevin Perry
can't be assed to take photos, they are both black and I have garbage for light the trousers are comfy as fuck, they are roomy in the thigh, have drop crotch and high waist so they don't basically restrict movement at all I think I would prefer if they weren't as tapered as they are, the leg opening is 15,5 cm laid flat, but they're amazing anyway the fabric is really nice too, linen wool blend, bit 'harder' texture than just plain wool but they are really light and warm pic related, removed the suspender though, it really doesn't serve any purpose and I don't like how it looks

found pics of the blazer as well kinda ill fitting on both of the models though

Their WDYWT thread is still active on a daily basis. I said that because Faust is making a lot of efforts to keep SZ relevant ( collabs with fashion designers ) but yet the fact that some important members left and that his publication is a failure is too much.
So its dying . It hasnt started to die recently, but its still dying
Luis Johnson
To be honest Faust can only blame himself for that, he seems like an absolute control freak and he is elitistic as fuck, though that's sorta understandable. But the main issue is he just doesn't handle or understand internet as a platform at all, he hasn't and won't change a thing even though it's clear SZ is slowly withering away
Adam Gonzalez
Absolutely, thats why he's hated by the most of the rest of the internet fashion community. Banning people for not liking Carpe Diem... What could I Say about his Grailed rant post
Manlet trash, the only good thing he did on internet was making Rosenrot and Shui have a place where they could glow. This and having GBS / Zam post on his forum
Isaiah Robinson
Zam is a fucking hack though. But yeah, Shui and Rosenrot adapted, both to what worked for them the best, Faust never moved to any direction so it's not a surprise things aren't looking up to SZ exactly.
Asher Gonzalez
>internet fashion community
There is one?
Samuel Sanchez
He actually nice in person but is just a complete keyboard warrior online. I can understand where he's coming from since he had to deal with fuccbois coming in asking how geobaskets fit, but I also think him banning people for liking things he does like reflects badly on the overall site. Grailed might be full of fuccbois, he could've learned from some of the community building tactics they use. Posting on forms just isn't enough anymore.
Austin Morgan
>He actually nice in person Yeah I don't doubt that, he is still fucking up handling any kinda community online though.

I think you’re talking about pairings, UC has items that fit dark fashion the same way it has stuff that caters to menswear and hype beast.
I’d throw in Lumen eat Umbra and Devoa
Lincoln Gray
I have not seen any Asian rock M.A belts. At most I see the loose Yohji + Guidi combo
>the one guy I sold my Devoa pants to rocked up in OCBD and Tan chinos lel. I get people dress “normie” for work and stuff but still...
Gavin Adams
M.a+ belts are a complete meme for chinese new money. They might have moved onto CCP now though.
Matthew Jenkins
Most fashion forums have been decade/dying for a while. SuFu is dead as bricks since some interesting people got banned and people migrated to styleforum/reddit/insta
Kayden Perez
Accessories are always overpriced for two reasons : they are easy cash-grabs and there would be a lack of brand image consistency if you sold let's say $100 belts alongside $2000 pants. Same thing applies to basic tee shirts etc. Also having higher margins on cheap & popular items allows brands to lower their margins on the most expensive ones and to take more risks.
Easton Miller
how do i /dark fashion/ if i can't afford those brands. or do i just not
Camden Murphy
plz no,
just go to hot topic at the mall

honestly i dont see insta as being anything very useful, not for actual dialog. you cant even upload or delete posts from your pc, it's purely mobile, it's like being trapped in your phone, and relying on likes for your shitty pics. i follow rick owens and a couple others and they post fucking amazing pics, but it's like ok....*clicks like button*, now what, leave a comment, ok ricj youre the best love this photo. it's all one sided and closed off. there's no actual back and forth or community in it.
Adam Ross
I want to let you know I have respect for you all even though I cant afford this or pull it off
Jackson Wood
Also fashion groups on facebook I agree, but everyone really seems to have moved on from forums :(
Justin Smith
What makes zam a hack? I own three pairs of his pants and they're all amazing. The materials and construction are incredible. His conceptual stuff is kinda weak but that doesn't make him a hack..
Evan Hill
Why the fuck is Jakob hetzer on this list? He has good taste but his brand is garbage. His collections are super unfocused and overpriced. He also pretends to make his money from selling clothes but it's clear that him and his friends are just trust fund babbys
Josiah Gomez
Who else would you recommend as a young up and coming designer that can somewhat fit in amongst other designers of this style that could replace him then?
I personally did like how his last collection of sweaters came out, but I also don’t have six hundred beans to throw at a single item at the moment so I can’t speak to the quality.
Grayson Garcia
His designs are riped off of other designers work
Charles Morris
don't worry no one in this thread can afford or pull it off either

can someone find me a fit with
-black leather gloves -black coat of mid to long lenght -black dress pants -black turtleneck -black dress shoes -belt and sunglasses optional
thanks
Adam Price
People dislike him because he takes HEAVY inspiration on other designers. Doesn't change the fact that his clothes are pretty good if you're into this style and can be really affordable on sale.
I do. Fight me punk.
Lincoln Walker
Taichi murakami. He's not 20 but he actually knows what he's doing..
Eli Gray
He's not a hack.
So what that he takes inspiration from other designers? All these designers sitting within this aesthetic do to either a lesser or greater extent. People hated on Boris Bidjan Saberi several years ago for his sneaker designs being derivative. People hated A1923 for being derivative, and people hated Guidi's clothing for being derivative. I'm referencing StyleZeitgeist in the early 2010s since these brands are rarely, if ever, discussed anywhere else. My point is that it doesn't matter if his work is derivative or not. Everyone is derivative, particularly in a niche where you only use bizarre sewing techniques, neutral colors, and arcane craftsmanship techniques. This is coming from someone who owns Guidi, A1923, Rick Owens, Lost & Found, Ann D., Damir Doma, Lumen et Umbra and many more. Very few of these designers are truly doing unique things.
Caleb Lewis
Why did you even quote me, I specifically said I don't care about his ripping off other designers as long as it is well done. Faggot.
Josiah Bell
I don't understand how some of this shit is so expensive, and I'm fine with paying $800 or so for a nice pair of pants or boots, but fucking $1000+ for a belt? Nah fuck off.
Alexander Evans
Does anybody here own m_moria? I'm curious what the quality is like at that price

close enough, just imagine it were a turtleneck and gloves.

tried shooping, sunglasses and that would be great
Hunter Clark
w2c pants?
Ryan Perry
The particular belt I assume you're referencing (the cross belt) is made with a bunch of hand worked sterling silver, which drives the price up. All of those crosses are sterling. Additionally, that belt is about as close as Amadei gets to making a statement logo piece so he probably produces less and charges more because increased demand for that particular piece equates to advertising in a niche where branding is generally very minimal.
Ryder Peterson
Come on dude these are the most basic pants, you can find them everywhere god damn
Angel Nguyen
you literally can't google Guidi
Lucas Morgan
I mean A1923 is like the biggest one out of the avant garde footwear realm for being as uninspired as fuck. Some neat designs but his only real unique thing is the dual zips. Ceccheto is a bit of a hack.
m_moria is nuts. I can't deal with the silhouette though really.

What do you guys think of these? I know they are basic but that is kinda what I'm looking for. Damir Doma for $400ish. I have no experience with their shoes so I'm not sure what to expect.
Robert Reed
Dont cop Damir anywhere near retail. Quality went down the drain.
Julian Morris
thought of doing it too originally, however figured it would look like shit. well done user, looks better than the original outfit imo
Landon Brown
Oh gotcha. I have only purchased a shirt from there many years ago.
Grayson Adams
Got Damir shoes. Quality is great and they fit a bit small. They are pretty old though, got them way before the brand was reshaped so it might not be relevant.
I own a lot of Damir and I've been into this designer for a long time and I don't feel like quality went down at all. The problem is that when they integrated the silent line to the main label. It resulted in a lot of very overpriced pieces which still offer the same middle-end quality as silent but are now priced higher in accordance with the price range of the main line (which has always been very expensive anyway).
So yeah, same quality but less value.
Nathan Ward
Id on his shoes or the name of that type of shoes
Grayson Thompson
Hey guys, what do you think? Girls at work say I look like a dark mysterious man.

Can someone recommend some long belts that work with this style that cost less then $500? I have a decent wardrobe but my accessories are severely lacking .
