gay

Gayest shit ever.

You know like, if you are actually gay, it’s like, OKAY to dress gay

This is actually an interesting question, obviously most people see an aversion to straight guys dressing in a ‘gay’ way, but do you still retain that adversion if the guy is actually gay? There are social norms of dressing for both men and women and crossing those norms is met with animosity, can the same be said for straight and gay males? What is acceptable for a gay male to wear isn’t ecceptable for a straight male? I think it’s useful to apply a different set of social norms to homosexual males, almost like a third gender; if this were a more widely understood distinction then the emasculation homophobes take issue with becomes more of a moot point.

Gays dress loudly and outside social norms to signal to other gays.

Don't confuse it with being fashionable.

And just so you know, dressing 'to get sex' isn't fashionable for hetero either. It never will be for any orientation.

So if something looks gay, then by all means wear it. It won't look good or be fashionable, but it will signal that you are homo.

Never equated anything to attraction or getting sex or fashionability. Just that there are different social norms of dressing for gays, mostly drawn homosexual culture and a greater freedom to dress with effeminacy and flamboyance since there isn’t the same social pressure to project masculinity.

well let's put it in this thread's context then; what makes the bandanna a "gay" piece of cloth? when it had its connotation to "western" clothing.

i'm guessing that it would be the styling that's mainly what makes it "look" gay. just depends on how one wears it is how it boils down to.

I don't think that's true at all, especially when you notice that gay culture usually involves wearing pretty normal clothes, but worn very poorly and loudly.

Compare to movements like palewave or comfycore or asian streetwear (Jap society is ultra conservative yet jap streetwear often involves guys in skirts)... Gay fashion isn't particularly feminine, just ugly.

It's loud, outside social norms, ugly, and op's picture looks like a gay couple.

What more do you want?

>handkerchiefs
this is for blowing your nose on right?

snot rags?

Homosexual

>what makes the bandanna a "gay" piece of cloth?

because 90% of the time you see someone wearing one it's an incredibly camp, effeminate old man

Despite stereotypes, dressing gay isn't always fashionable. More often than not, people who are clearly gay dress very tacky, and not in a fashionably ironic way. Using a bandana/handkerchief is very gay, but it's not at all Veeky Forums.

>well let's put it in this thread's context then; what makes the bandanna a "gay" piece of cloth?
Gays literally use bandanas to signal to other gays that they want to get fucked. How do you not know this?

Didn’t say it was fanshionable, just that writing it off as gay doesn’t really say very much about the garment.

Okay so just to clarify, everyone calling you gay is right. I'm actually gay so I can confirm. Wearing a handkerchief or bandanna out of your back pocket is a common signal for wanting to get rammed or wanting to ram depending on the color and style of the bandana.

This is legit gay

>do you still retain that adversion if the guy is actually gay?
Yes. In fact, most "conservative" areas of the US don't actually take exception to the man buttsex that's only one of many misconceptions that coastal liberals have about them. What they actually object to is the faggotry. The effeminate behavior, flamboyant dress, general refusal to act straight. If you just behave like any other man you can fuck anybody you like in the ass.
