FAQs for Robinhood
> How is it free?
They invest your unsettled funds after a trade.
It's also pretty basic software.

> When is it coming to my country?
Probably never. They only have plans on an Australian beta ( robinhood.com/au/).

> It's been X days, why isn't my account isn't verified yet?
If it takes more than 3 days, try emailing their support. They are very good.

> Is this the right place to pump and dump and/or shill a worthless stock?
No, please go to Stocktwits, Plebbit, or one of our many chat groups.

> What's a good penny stock to invest in?
Don't buy penny stocks you cum guzzling mouth breathing retard.

> I hit sell when the stock was X.XX, but it actually sold at a lower price, am I being jewed?
No, that would actually be illegal. Robinhood graphs are just shit and only show you an average, not-really-realtime price. To get Bid/Ask prices and important things like candlestick graphs, you should use a more robust platform.

> Where can I get better charting or bid/ask?
thinkorswim is bretty gud if you want to go open a second account with real broker.
Otherwise you should be using Yahoo/Google finance or even Stocktwits for your graphing in addition to Robinhood.

> If I have Robinhood do I need to worry about 'Free riding' violations?
No, its not applicable for limited margin accounts (instant), and if you don't have instant, RH won't let you buy with unsettled funds

> Can I use Robinhood on my PC?
Yes, download an android emulator. Setup is extremely easy. memuplay.com/

Today's performance of the Veeky Forums MEME ETF

I KNEW the fucking short sellers were driving the price down. And now I see why the hedge funders staying away has caused the crash. When the shorts finally settle their contracts CERU will probably explode.

How long do short contracts run for? I think the CERU dip started it's decline April 21.

Wait so should i buy or not buy CERU? what do Veeky Forums?

I'm balls deep going for the long haul. That low volume, that low bid and high ask price tells me there is a stale mate going on right now. No one want to sell at the bid price and no one wants to buy at the ask price. I think the stock is a deal right now. But you might be staring at the abyss for a while waiting for a payday. Those short sellers have contracts to cover and they will keep that bid price low for as long as they can.

>Dat top 3 rate change
1%, 1%, 1%, 40, 60

its the troll low volume, with the right hype though the bear boys will get btfo
in my opinion its a good buy for the price becasue its been stagnating for so long that any solid announcements would make some profit, but dont plan for a june 30th moon base

Where my NVCN niggas at?

THE BUMP LIMIT IS 500 STOP SPAMMING THREADS REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

right here. Still waiting on my account but I was watching all day and HOLY SHIT did I fucking miss out

y u do dis?

If good PR I'm jumping back in for super gains, I sold at .85 today from .44

im thinking of buying. looking like 2.05 is the bottom. but i could be wrong. will sell at 2.30 for a sweet 10$ profit

I've been watching the market for weeks. Some nigger keeps lowering the price purposefully.
Every time some offers to sell higher, they undercut 5c more than it's current market avg and cause it to plummet.
Fucking watch on Tradingview.com

no, the bump limit is 300 you dumb fuck.
After 300 it stops bumping
500 is the posting limit
kys

NVCN nigga

Alright I am not looking to make any sort of serious money. Mostly just looking to learn about investing/ the market in general. I have 100 dollars in a robinhood account that I can literally just blow.

I also have a few beginner questions but is this the right place to ask or am I just gonna get meme'd out of existence.

Already bought and sold that yesterday.

ask away kohai

Go ahead, we will try.
Robinhood is great for people in your position

Honestly there are not many troll answers here. Don't listed to the guys who suggest you short 1000 shares of BRK.A though.

Getting memed out of existence is a possibility, but don't let that scare you. Getting in and getting your feet wet is the best way to learn.

It has increased to almost .80 AH. You think the conference over the weekend will drive it up next week?

It's a good buy but don't bet everything, and remember that it could be till the end of the month till we see a rise

>Some nigger keeps lowering the price purposefully.

That actually sounds good to me. That means some one is manipulating the stock. And if they have enough swag to manipulate it then they plan on a pump and dump. No one pump and dumps for 5% gains. Not sure when it will hit but if it is still low when my swag cash clears I might pump another 300 into it.

If it brings volume.

I bought the CERU whale dump and it took 30 minutes to sell after his pump.

I profit off that whale a lot.

Thanks bro-anons.

How much would you have to invest to actually start making a steady income off of dividends (or I guess it's called yield?). By steady income I mean like 100-300 dollars a month.

Are ETF's as great as everyone is saying they are? Aren't they just taking a section of the market and replicating it, unlike managed like mutual funds?

I understand robinhood is commission free but if you're just throwing your money into a bunch of diversified ETF's with a alright yield what makes it better then just opening an account with vanguard or charles schwab?

Are people studying stocks and just looking at trends actually making money or are they just fooling themselves with bullshit theories about the future?

Do people really make money off of news announced after the market is closed? They just put in orders at night and pray the price doesn't jump before their own order gets bought?

last question, I know there is a lot,

when you actually place an order for an amount of stock at a certain price that is just an estimate? You're just putting a buy order out and when people sell their stock at whatever the price is you get that? Doesn't the price change by the second? The minute?

Oh yeah, I made bank back in April. Got back in at what I thought was the bottom but it still fell. Even now I am still ahead in it. I'm patient though so it will eventually pay off for me.

1. Steady income of dividends? More than anyone posting here
2. The real memes in the ETF field are leveraged etfs and their inverses, like UWTI, DWTI for oil 3x oil price bull and bear
3. Robinhood is pretty good with no commissions, if you have real money though its good to have another broker
4. It's complicated. There are some people here that swear by technical analysis and they make huge cash, luck and experience are the real tools in my opinion though.
5. Yes? Dont quite understand
6. Ok so you need to look into the different types of orders. If you place a market order, then you get what ever the bid/ask is when buying or selling. If you want to sell or buy at an exact price you can place a limit order.

Price is constantly changing and you end up with an average price, usually when you are buying penny stocks with thousands of shares the average can deviate alot, almost 3% from where you purchased

Here. It's up after hours. This weekend needs to end.

>How much would you have to invest to actually start making a steady income off of dividends (or I guess it's called yield?). By steady income I mean like 100-300 dollars a month.

A good dividend stock pays roughly 4-5% of stock price per year. So to get 100-300 bucks a month you are talking 30k-100k investments. Better to go for growth when starting out.

>what makes it better then just opening an account with vanguard or charles schwab?

Those are brokered accounts which means you have to pay a fee to trade. Even if it is just 10 bucks a trade that means 10 bucks to buy and 10 bucks to sell. So if you are starting with 100 bucks that means you can only invest 90 and it must break 110 before you make profit. Here you can actually make small gains and not sit on your stock for a long time.

>Are people studying stocks and just looking at trends actually making money

I have been making a few bucks. I made about 10% in three months which really isn't bad.

Monday finally means something now.

Before I started trading I despised Monday. Now I wish the weekend would end so I can get back into the hunt. Currently holding NVCN over the weekend.

Mr. Frog here,
I told you guys. We should see a run up on Monday. Don't worry about those lawsuits. They're running those incessantly during the conference. put a stop loss--you know, just in case.

Fucking hell. I jumped on CERE way too late at .39

Went ahead and sold at a loss, but couldn't use the funds to buy anything else because the RH volatility restriction.

Guess there's always Monday...

>I understand robinhood is commission free but if you're just throwing your money into a bunch of diversified ETF's with a alright yield what makes it better then just opening an account with vanguard or charles schwab?

depends on broker and what you're buying. if you open an account with vanguard you can trade vanguard etfs for free. i don't know about the others (i use vanguard for my real serious, boring, adult accounts). i use robinhood for meme trading.

if you're really looking to "invest" you should just use a real broker that fits your need and follow buffet's advice. if you just want to trade memes, play around w/ robinhood or some other low cost broker.

>Are people studying stocks and just looking at trends actually making money or are they just fooling themselves with bullshit theories about the future?
fooling around. it's really hard to beat the market consistently. if you want to make money you should get a real job... but this shit is fun if you have some spare time and cash to burn.

Just made a robin hood account and waiting until I get paid to transfer some money to the app.

Is it really that simple? Just add money from my bank account, buy some stocks, sell them, and then get the money put into my account? Is that it? Seems really simple after all this time I spend reading about brokers and stuff.

Also the MEmu thing is shit and I ended up having to download the app.

Yes, it's that simple. Money transfers into RH are instant, transfers out take 5 trading days after the funds settle. That's the best part about RH.
The downside is that the graphs are shit and Robinhood Instant is shit if you day trade or trade volatile stocks. DON'T GET RH INSTANT.

>after the funds settle
>scared.jpg

What does that mean?

>Robinhood Instant is shit if you day trade or trade volatile stocks

But what am I to use Robinhood for if not for day trading?

I'm 19, very new to stocks and investing and such and I figured Robinhood was a good way to get started (plus supplemental readings of course), rather than walking into a brokerage firm in casual clothing with $20 in my wallet and not knowing a damn thing. My part-time job pays shit and I'm hoping to make enough money for a down payment on a car using stocks. Is this viable or am I better off waiting until I graduate college?

Pretty bad that you ALSO have to remind them to make sure they don't lose too much in case it tanks.

>Holding their hands..

You said Monday so people should realize it's a 1 week hold at the shortest. I remember Monday-Wednesday you repeated numerous times that it would be a 1 to 2 week hold as news develops. I'm not sure why everyone thinks they can just refresh their accounts over and over and expect the lawsuit to happen before scheduled.

yeah there was even a screenshot from monday or tuesday when I gave all of the necessary information on it. A bunch of anons went and double checked it (which I encourage) and they agree. A bunch of people bought in at the low $6 and then panic sold today at a loss because it dipped into the 5.80's and then it shot back to $6 during AH. I told them not to...

I just can't be bothered to repeat the same information over and over.

>NOKOE'D

...

Exactly as it sounds. After you sell your stock you have to wait 5 days until you get the money. After that you can transfer it into your bank if you want.
Robinhood isn't just for day trading, you can do long holds. I'm 19 myself and this is a good way to get extra money aside from a part time job. Just don't buy into every meme you see here and learn how to do research. Don't expect consistent gains.
AMD is one of the more recent stocks I made money off of. I saw that they announced a release of a new card that would match the GTX 1070 and is much cheaper. Included into that is hype that Microsoft might start using their chips. Not only that there was E3 hype going on. Just today there was a 10% increase. I think I held it for about a month before E3 happened.

I set a stop loss for my PTX shares at $0.45. I'm hoping they'll jump back up though. It's frustrating to see them slowly decline a couple cents every day.

If my broker made me wait 5 entire days until I can transfer my money into my bank account they'd lose me so fucking fast it's not even cool. The most I've had to wait is 3 days.

Who you with noko? Tdameritrade here

Holy manipulation. Was CERU whale right all along anons?

Yeah I'm not going to say it's the best but it's pretty much the only choice I have, I can see how it would be a huge bother to other people, but this is just a side thing for me after school and work.
Right now I'm only holding AMD, ARRY, and VHC.

Scottrade, no I'm not advertising them.
Etrade is also good.
If you want cheap and reliable I recommend Optionshouse.
Tdameritrade seems like a ripoff to me.
You can even find good deals on

stockbrokers.com/offers
There's probably better than stockbrokers.com but I was googling around and found that.

I'm currently holding a bit over 11k worth of VHC.

>11k
I only got $150 in it, and if it really does just to to 17-20 like you say then I would get a solid 300. That's my insurance for a couple months. Could probably put in another 300 at most but I'm still wary.

Always be wary with any stock trade you make.
Do your DD.

“Now, Kalamas, don’t go by reports, by legends, by traditions, by scripture, by logical conjecture, by inference, by analogies, by agreement through pondering views, by probability, or by the thought, ‘This contemplative is our teacher.’ When you know for yourselves that, ‘These qualities are skillful; these qualities are blameless; these qualities are praised by the wise; these qualities, when adopted & carried out, lead to welfare & to happiness’ — then you should enter & remain in them."

>Namaste

Fuck you noko

I had sex with your dad, faggot.

>Two times

OOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHH FUCKING WRECKED HE HAD SEX WITH YOUR DAD. NOT ONCE, BUT TWICE!

EIther add "-bro" to the end of your name or put noko in the right field. Or I'll have sex with your dad as well.

Do you really want memes?

>What does that mean?

After you sell a stock the cash gets posted to your account but the money is not *really* there for 3 days. This is an old SEC rule and not a robinhood exclusive thing.

After 3 days your funds will be 'settled' in your account and you can use them again to buy more stocks (or transfer them out to your bank per your original post)

if you don't have a roth IRA set up and fully funded, you probably shouldn't be trying to daytrade your way into a new car.

>Do you really want memes?
kinda

>But what am I to use Robinhood for if not for day trading?

To learn how to pick stocks. Not all stocks go up. Some just stagnate, some steadily go down, some crash. Better to learn messing around with 50 bucks than learn banking 5000 through a brokerage firm.

Notice he said "down payment on a car".

Do not lease a car, son, that is the most expensive way to drive.

or at the very least, how/when to enter, manage risk, and exit.

>Buying a new car
>Not renting a different luxury sports car every weekend and escort and hotel room.
>And commuting to work on a 1litter motorcycle.
