crazy idea here but what if- maybe i'm out of my mind here but- WHAT IF you'd actually look at, you know, art actually MADE in the history instead? you know, quality art? fine art? art that have stunned people for centuries rather than what some history circlejerking autist posted on DeviantArt -08?

fuck i'm so done with you historyfags. i just want to discuss rembrandt damn it

Autist

Why not both?

This triggers the autist.

I actually really dig this painting user, historical or not, the subject is historical, and it's well made. I know the artist was likely assisted with modern tools like photoshop, but I like to think of that as an entirely different skillset. I've see talented on-paper artists flounder like toddlers the second they're handed a mouse or a tablet. I think traditional and modern tools should be in the artist's skillset.

More mythological than historical but fuck me if this isn't awesome.

That's not Veeky Forums material though.

He's referring to the board's 25 year rule. It's a decent rule, most of the time. I think he's being anal about modern photoshop art. I say as long as it depicts something historical it's A-OK.

Also how is Rembrandt not historical material? Am I misunderstanding what you mean?

I have a copy of this on my wall. ''an officers trophy room''

if you look on the far right you can see an Asian man; that's a representative from Japan, who were involved in the War in that they captured some Pacific Islands which were Germany's colonies. They got to keep them.

I could spend the whole thread posting just Otto Pliny but I don't feel like it.

Google him, everyone who is interested in orientalist art.
