Was Manifest Destiny justified? Was it inevitable? Why or why not?

Was Manifest Destiny justified? Was it inevitable? Why or why not?

Manifest destiny is the self evident right, the eternal truth that the white man can and WILL bring order to the chaos. whoever and wherever that chaos may be.

Stealing land, killing native indians. It was just naming what has been happening since the first europeans came to America.

After the French sold Louisiana, 100%
Before that, not quite sure

at least Americans had justification for expansion other than "mine"

Go to Arizona and visit a reservation. Then come back and ask if it was justified.

Killing and massacring is order?

Is territorial expansion ever justified?

that's pretty damn spooky, friend

order is not a destination but a process. To order something to is change it fundamentally. The white man, upon the realization of societal order is the proginator of advance, and forward movement, and historically he has done this through the destruction and removal of the old, through where the new will spring forth.

Brennus in the 4th century BC. Took Rome, at the infancy of its Hegemonic power. Though brief, Rome glimpsed its future determined. The experience advanced rome into a republic untill their next clash with the Germanic man, who advanced civilization into an EMPIRE.

in the 4th century AD Rome (civilization) was to encounter the German man again, who advanced society into the next age, the middle fuedal ages, a new order of decentralized power under the banner of a symbolic power in the western Roman protectorate.

The holy roman empire created by the German man advanced the world into a new place of regional boundaries, guided by regional cultural practices and lifestyles, goverened by a symbolic relationship to the church in the spiritual home of rome.

From the holy roman empire, the german man advanced the world into "States" that grew from the remanants of these regional powers. These states spread over the world into new empires dominated by the white man.

Finally in the 20th century the german man advanced the world into a global community, after a massive conflict involving these states, the world grew into 3 spheres: America (USA) Europe (EU) Asia (China).

Today, the final showdown begins as Europe has conceded and left the final world game. China and the USA will battle for who will shape the new 'global' world that will come from this final showdown.

>settling empty land and integrating the vast majority of aboriginal peoples into Western society and squashing bandits and raiders along the way is order?
The answer is yes.

Go back to /pol/, boy.

when people said "lurk moar" did you think they were just being silly?

Why is every thread shit today?

Manifest Destiny is just the name for American Imperialism. It seems more noble to us now because it was one of the most successful. We berate the Spanish for doing the same thing we did.

/pol/cat go home

>order to the chaos

That's not how you spell genocide.

Why is this controversial? It's just American imperialism, of course it isn't any more morally justifiable than every other country's imperialism. Probably less so, Native Americans are infinitely more fucked today than India/HK/South Africa/whatever.
