Some of those flags are pretty ugly.
Specifically the Uzbek, Kyrgyz, Turkmen, Georgian, Belorussian, Lithuanian, Moldovan, and Ukranian which looks like it's hammer and sickle is a bit off to the right.

Also USSR had a really unhealthy obsession with red/blue/yellow thrown together, there was an overdose of it. Here's Soviet Kiev coat of arms, for example.

At a distance, symbols and text become meaningless blurs unless you're looking at it on a good, clear day. At least, tricolors can be recognized at that distance.
