Many of the posters here dont know anything about history either, though it doesn't stop them from repeating widely discredited theories and myths

probably not

there are plenty of people that only learned history from a cracked 10 ways europeans enslaved the world and stole the rights of women article

literally everyone here is a Wikipedia warrior

Then there's those who only learned it from browsing stormfront

Yea was gonna say this. Most here have played some Total War or other historical strategy game and now think they are experts on history.

This. The sheep are completely blind to the fact that Jews enslaved the world and stole the rights of the white man. Luckily, there is a select, redpilled elite.

No, judging by the posts here, most people don't know shit about history.

I'm actually very interested in history but most of the time I'm too fucking lazy to properly educate myself.

no

I have a broad range of vague knowledge but that's about as far as it goes, I tend to lurk more and state that what I'm saying isn't necessarily the truth when I do post though. Or try to.

>nah me neither
>tfw you are the cancer

I'm a historian but I'm still kind of a retard when it comes to anything outside my field (early Irish church history and early modern Scottish linguistic history)

My girlfriend is also a historian, specialising in Medieval Welsh law, but she knows a little bit about basically every period of world history. I wish I could be more like that, I feel pretty clueless a lot of the time.

I think it's an actual prerequisite to post here to be as completely ignorant of history as possible.

I only know I don't know shit about philosophy and it's not part of my plans to learn.

Every thread that has to do with:

>The decline of Rome
>lead-up WWI
>Islam

Almost always are shit. They usually attract large numbers of vocal people who regurgitate misinformed stuff they spent a week learning in middle school.

Usually threads on more obscure topics do better since the posters contributing are more likely know what they are talking about.

also pic related.

If you want an interesting series about western history, check out Eugen Weber's series.

FUCKING SUMMERFAGS

Also threads literally about politics and not history. I don't care if its alt right nazi garbage or full communist shit - /pol/ with dates is explicitly against board rules. The mod for this board must have abandoned it right after creation, just like god did...

>Yea was gonna say this. Most here have played some Total War or other historical strategy game and now think they are experts on history.

>Total War doesn't learn you sh*t about history dude! Assassin Creed does! For example, how was life in some milleniums ago and stuff like this

Like how /pol/ went from general /new/s discussion to full blown nazis to poes law with edgy memes? Why can't there be ONE intelligent discussion board that isn't immediately poisoned with edgy teenagers and excessive shitposting?

This board is utter shit, was like that since the beginning. Hirohito created it because the spergs kept bitching about Veeky Forums board. Moot was right for not wanting to let it happen.

This is the place where people can freely post their bullshit biased opinions without sounding too /pol/-ish and while also appearing smart in their own eyes and in the eyes of idiots who are even dumber than them.

This board can become better but with EXTREME levels of moderation and standards of quality. But no one is that autistic to give such attention to this board.

Same. Books man, can't force myself to read em. But wiki articles, those I can do
>I'm retarded

Fuuuuuug, I spent, like, 10 years on Cracked from Elementary School through Highschool.

It definitely put me one step ahead of everyone else during High School, but on Veeky Forums, I'm considered a normie beta casual.

Same, until one day I realized it was all bullshit. Can't even go to their page anymore

*tips fedora*

>tfw despite all of this it's the best place on Veeky Forums to have a serious discussion
You play the hand you're dealt.

I mean, I think Cracked was freaking great back when it did a whole lot of historical and science stuff, and the main articles by people like Brockway and Seanbaby were goddamn killer, but now it's just so...different.

It's so "topical", but instead of being "funny" topical, where they just make fun of everything and piss on everyone, now they're trying to be all "serious" topical, which sucks dick.
