Left terrorism became marginal in 19th century (with the end of Anarchists' First International).

Second International (SocDem) is/was non-violent, Third International (Bolsheviks) explicitly discarded terrorism as a tactic, relying on organized overthrow of the government, and 4th (Trotskyism) never got off the ground.

Post-WWII left terrorism is hard to explain. There is a good reason to assume majority of it was false-flag operations (conspiracy theories or not, there was enough crap around Operation Gladio) or criminal syndicates simply using Left as cover.
