How was agriculture invented in several places almost at the same time...

How was agriculture invented in several places almost at the same time? Modern humans had existed for at least 100 000 years, but somehow agriculture just happened to be invented in several places around the same time 12 000 years ago.

There are places where agriculture was never invented, and others were it was invented much later.

It was a few thousand years apart.

The reality is it probably was invented in one place and the rough concept did slowly spread. Even the prehistoric preagrilcutral world was connected.

It probably also has something to do with a very slow very slight increase in population until a point where agriculture starts to be a lot more attractive.

The abundance of easy domesticable plants

It's possible it was invented earlier, but the massive disruptions of the last ice age would have destroyed the evidence. In particular, the Sahara desert was lush and green during the ice age, and the probable source of the people we would later know as "Afro-Asiatics", such as the Egyptians.

He has a point. Plus agriculture was invented in the middle east, so definitely not by white people (nor black).

>almost at the same time?

Pretty sure several hundred to a thousand years between peoples, isn't at the same time at all.

>so definitely not by white people (nor black).

The inventors of agriculture were most likely the bearers of the J2 haplogroup, which is predominant not only in the Middle East but across Southern Europe and North Africa, and which is found as far afield as Britain and Ireland. So while they certainly weren't Europeans, they /were/ white.

Was it through? I thought that was only in the Near East.

Right, source ?

Alright Veeky Forums, which of those groupings of food would you rather eat for the rest pf your life. I choose the Mesoamerican group with the Mesopotamian group in a close second.

Looks like it was discovered independently only twice, once 12000 years ago and once 7000 years ago.

>WE

Seriously, though. A haplogroup is not what you think it is.

Try Google.

Pretty sure it was discovered independently in all of those examples.

Do you really think people walked 5000 miles to share information in 5000 BC?

Every single domesticated plant or animal had to be domesticated "independently", there is no transferable skill that covers domesticating wheat and domesticating cabbages.

because the ice age ended probably

It wasn't. It was invented only twice, once in the middle east and once in China.

You could, by considering more primitive forms of agriculture, consider that it was invented a third time in the Americas.

This person is correct insofar as the inventors of agriculture spread their genes far and wide from Europe to India. The three first civilizations, Sumeria, Egypt, and the Indus Valley Civilization, were all created by the same people who originally invented agriculture.

Modern europeans have around 30 to 50% of middle eastern farmer DNA.

Actually, that source tells me the Ancient Europeans were all Black.

Then you're a stupid nigger who can't judge the trustworthiness of the sites he visits.

IIRC the thing that set off the development of agriculture in the Middle East was a quite rapid shift in climate. What used to be good hunting grounds suddenly became much drier and something had to be done in order to sustain the population. Hunter gatherers usually have a good set of knowledge about plants and how they work, so planting stuff itself isn't a stranger to them, they just needed to do it in a much larger scale and a bit differently..

Explain how it didn't destroy the evidence for hunting-gathering.

Grapes were domesticated in the Near east and Caucasus before than in Europe

They migrated 5000 Miles, Yes, and ships existed, neolithic Europeans came from western Anatolia

try reading Pandora's Seed on the argument. There it is proposed that agriculture was a trap some societies found themself in. Firstly they would find a place with high natural resource and abundance of cereals; after the increase of the population a climate change forced them to start growing the seeds to feed themself.
