>World War 1 involved Britain and Germany, plus sometimes America, never leaving the trenches except to be slaughtered in no man's land

>The French sacrificed millions of men solely because of their believe in the power of elan

>france is a dlc
>because we thought they were so special they deserved their own dlc

>Askaris and their campaigns in Africa will receive no mention whatsoever
>but some ghetto nigga can be a regular solider

This is offensive to the Askaris who put their lives on the line for European ambitions. DICE ought to be boycotted.

A completely accurate portrayal of WWI tactics would require it to be an RTS, not an FPS. But since it IS in FPS, you have to do FPS things, like move.

There is a difference between accuracy and authenticity. BF1 provides nothing but insults

that's one tanned Australian.

They should have just made it a fantasy game only loosely connected with WWI and it would have been awesome.
If you can't be accurate about a historical setting might as well just go crazy with it, put steampunk power armor, zombies and vampires in it.

They should have done an alternate history where the war dragged on into 1921
>All those prototypes can be justified as standard armament
>War becomes mobile again due to advanced weapons and vehicles
>Running out of manpower so can justify higher proportion of blacks
>Keep those god tier WW1 aesthetics

All problems solved

What are you on about?

A completely accurate portrayal of WW1 tactics would not differ considerably from the portrayal of WW2 tactics. Guys run, crawl, move, duck, hide, sprint, walk, shoot, stab, kaboom, and so on.

What about this game?

Still not accurate, but at least it makes a god damn effort

Everyone for the good of Veeky Forums please report these shit threads.

Why isnt it accurate? Ignoring the accuracy of weapons n other gameplay mechanics

No fuck you you autistic piece of fucking shit.

The accuracy of these games fucking matter to me; maybe not to you -- YOU IMBECILE!!

Mostly just the necessary and acceptable breaks from reality you need for a game to be enjoyable. Other than that though gas doesnt work at all realistically, there are still way to many advanced weapons relative to bolt actions, and having soldiers of multiple nations in the same trench was pretty rare.

Really though its pretty much everything you could hope for in a historically authentic shooter

Checked
So technically its the most authentic ww1 game out there, right?

This is one of those false flag posts isn't it.

Im not aware of any better. There was a ww1 mod for the original red orchestra which might be competitor, and maybe one for arma 2

yeah there's a political conspiracy against historical accuracy supporters

I don't get why FPS games don't like bolt actions. Back in call of duty world at war the bolt actions were really fun to use.

Bolt action requires careful aiming, most kiddies who play FPS just want non stop frantic action with machine guns blasting everywhere.

Well that post was either a humourless parody, somebody only pretending to be obnoxiously retarded in order to undermine the opposing position (false flag), or an emotionally overinvested autistic with a complete lack of self-awareness.

Red orchestra, Verdun uhhh...fuck. Actually , give up on bolt actions and try amd play m&b napoleonic

Bolt actions make for satisfying as hell gunplay

IKR, don't know why the majority of weapons wouldn't be bolt action. Must be in deference to controller using console gamers.
