I started kicking people over team balance in valve servers. I used to play a game called Town of Salem a lot. Much like TF2, ToS had teams made up of different classes that had to work together and do their jobs in order to win. While you couldn't be kicked from a game, you be reported and banned over a few things. one of those things was game throwing. Because no one wants to play a team based "you have to work together to win" game with people who intentionally do things that cause their team to lose. That's why I started kicking people from valve servers for being a "friendly" or for ignoring class balance. There are severs for that sort of thing.

It's a crutch because it denies sightlines without risk. Other classes set themselves at risk to do anything due to range limitations and damage falloff. Also aiming a laser pointer in a game as slow as tf2 is no accomplishment. Projectile kills and blast jumping (with your own blasts or enemy blasts) requires far more finesse and often actual prediction aim rather than sheer reaction time twitching.

Natasha heavy resists damage
Bonk/Sandman scout lets you stun and taunt kill the little shit
Pyro has 175, can tank 1 headshot and the flare is a distance weapon, letting you light lmao and flare crit
DR spy is DR spy
Engi can drop sentry after sentry, forcing the bot to step off
shield resists damage, lock grenades move quick
Buff banner provides damage resist and direct hit is a one shot kill
Batt Backup gives minicrits and a minicrit rocket from anything(except the liberty launcher) is almost a guaranteed kill

Yeah, playing medic gives you a great prospective on how your own team plays. That's why it's hard to get someone to play medic in pubs. People get frustrated at there own team and switch classes.
