Maybe he's talking about the 20man "solo roamers". In which case just bring CC and move speed, since you're outnumbering your enemy, all you have to do is slow them down for your weight of numbers to demolish them.

Yeah, those are specific terms to WvW. "Roamers" being solo types that usually play high burst builds and may flip camps and sentries.
"Zergers" being people who stay with the blob and make up the group comp and play specifically focused builds for group play.
As for builds, if you're new to it, I would suggest looking at metabattle and going down to the section on GvG builds. Those usually translate well to zerg builds or larger havoc squads.
