Sadly, I doubt they ever will. They STILL rush out the games to meet absurd deadlines, even after the disastrous '06, and they continue to make up new elements instead of expanding on the already plentiful material already extant.
Let's be real here, the biggest Sonic purists are SEGA themselves.

Making the comics follow the game continuity turned out be a better idea than expected. Though now it just makes the games look more and more obsolete, to be honest.
Also, is it just me, or did they redesign Wendy to be more... attractive?
