Pretty tough choice. DT2 has some difficulty spikes for the main story but it's a fun enough game that grinding a bit is no big deal. But if you don't like the genre then you might not like that. However, one big advantage of DT2 is that it has a story and lots of amusing scenes with the girls, so that could be motivation to keep playing. Did you try the demo to see if you like it's writing and humor?

Atelier are pretty good games but very light on story and heavy on moe and slice of life. They have a decent battle system but the best stuff is the unique synthesis stuff you won't see in any other JRPG.

I'll add that DG had some very big difficulty spikes for its bosses, but I didn't feel OA was that bad. Kind of just breezed through that one.

DT2 I killed all the bosses on the first try aside from Siren near the beginning. I don't feel like it has major difficulty spikes unlike DG where I was terrified of running into a boss randomly. At least in DT2 you can save everywhere and the game tells you if you're about to fight a boss. So the main story content, about 40-50 hours, isn't really that difficult, but the postgame is much longer and harder.

Go atelier trig unless you 100% know you like drpg. I like RPGS but not DRPGs learned the difference with DT2.

You might be able to do it as long as you have the MP to get away from the hands. I used Thunder Ray and normal attacks to mop up any monsters that came near me and decided to stick to normal attacks for Trillion itself so that I can conserve on MP.

Took me two chances with an Overlord to dish out enough damage on 2nd form because of how Solid Mind and Final Sprint works.

OA was disappointingly easy though. They let you level and buff your gear and all, but 95% of bosses/wanted variants die in 3-4 turns with a ragtag party anyway so what's the point? To waste time grinding omega wyverns or something? They got the dungeons right, but the combat was just completely underwhelming. The classic avatars were legitimately the only thing that got me through the plat. I'm pretty sure I would have gotten bored and dropped it if not for the dress-up aspect.

I think way too many people say DG is super easy. Maybe if you grind for specific artifacts all day and use specific strategies like some OP party compositions. But the average player is going to have a pretty tough time without those strategies.

Even as someone who really doesn't like touch based controls this game is fun to play. Battles and enemies always require strategy and timing, visuals are unique, story is dark and a little vague/simple and I just want to know more.

Have you tried being lame and using veil (or that item with veil effect: god's mirror?) with a 'miracle' item:negate magic? What exactly is going wrong in that fight?

There's an item that negates being gazed when equipped (legendary shield, I think) so you don't even need to sacrifice a demon for that.

Not having a tank means that pretty much anyone in the front lines is taking a fuckton of physical damage. I can deal a fair amount of damage, but those seeds keep bothering me and Quasar will outheal the damage output he receives. That's pretty much the only issue I have.

I feel its fairly easy, but there are some challenging parts if you didn't know there was an easier way to do things. I still don't know how to use those continue things, but there were really only 3 situations when I would even need to have considered using them.

It was at least entertaining for one half of the story, which was a good 6 hours I say.

I can't exactly tell you about continuity considering I can't READ Japanese, but I can understand a fair amount of it verbally. The story was okay, but it's pretty much slightly better than what you'd expect from a game like that.
