according to Mitsubishi they nerfed the first half of the game because of people complaining that bloodborne was too hard at the start

the second half is still pretty fucking easy but is harder than that chunk of the game by a large margin

I think Irithyll coincides with the slump in magic between the start of the game where magic is okay and the end of the game where magic is awesome (if you can hit anything with it, which is a huuuuge IF.)

BKGA is the only weapon I have that goes past 700 AR at high STR and moderate DEX.

That's a good point, really. Most of the hard enemies patrol and can be avoided if you try. Same is true of the Dungeon, but it's more obvious there, since the Jailers rape you if they see you.
