I'm 5k mmr in dota, rank 1 in Heroes of the Storm, and used to be Diamond rank in League of legends.

If you compare pure gameplay disregarding item learning, spell interactions, laning phase (denies, pulls, zoning), obsolete mechanics like damage types, hots actually takes more skill in terms of executing moves and combos and working as a team, especially in terms of apm, it's kinda like lol in that regard but lol's laning phase is even more retarded than dota, both games are archaic pieces of shit that are being held afloat only by "muh esports" and their retarded playerbases not wanting to learn something else because they played the same game for the past 10 years and invested too much time into it, all the same as that piece of shit CS GO.
