In HoI3 at least, puppeting the Chinese costs manpower and leads to the IC that I gain being used inefficiently because of revoltrisk and non-core penalties, whereas if the AI was left with it, the IC could produce divisions that could help me fight through Siberia. What do? I usually just fight the Chinese and then take whatever I can get but I wonder if anyone's tried the other route

It's actually a modification of HPP made by the infamous Rob. Dare I say, I would recommend it. There are a few more events and they are actually balanced, such as the peace deal between the Allies and Germany as shown, which don't appear in the regular HPP.

Edward VIII is still king in the UK. If you know what that means...essentially he was a sympathizer of National Socialism so in this save he would have pitched the peace deal but to no avail.

You don't actually need so much IC. As you can see from the screenshot, I have troops prepared in the interior which are like two levels of reserve troops. I'll be fine with the divisions available from the beginning. The USSR can stomp the shit out of Germany when it's a human player, but not so much when it's AI in HPP.

I'll be mad if they don't use NATO counters.

I made a mod where you can select different national languages for character names (European, East Asian, or more specific like English, Italian etc). Ship, planet and fleet names aren't done yet though.
