What did Britain gain from its victory in WWII?

They got to not be Nazi colony.

Churchill speeches

Existance.

Victory, but that's about it.

The war itself, with Britain committing forces all over the planet in Europe, North Africa, Burma, SE Asia, and the Atlantic Ocean, the Empire's treasury was sucked dry just hanging on to survival.

The economic destruction and loss of life made the British unable to effectively control all their colonies, which is why independence was just given instead of fighting resistance wars they knew they would lose, a lesson France didn't learn in Vietnam and Algeria.

Britain and France did try to project their own power and showcase they were still world players in the Suez Crisis, but the result of that only showed just how limited they were after being crippled in the worlds largest war.

It's very easy to argue that there were really only 2 winners from WWII, the US and Soviet Union, as they were the only 2 powers to be in a stronger position than when they entered, every other major allied power was either defeated or crippled by the cost of the conflict.
