I had this thing happen to me, he stays at the transition. Its bugged quest. But you can take the reward from Max. Just move with him near the level changer in Radar --> A.W., and the quest should update and tell you to go get your reward.

Reminds me of the feature Elona+ had until the server died. Every player could decide if he wanted to connect his game to the network and every now and then player deaths(their location, what killed them and the last words of the player) and messages would appear in the text box.
Would be pretty cool something like that found its way into current Stalker mods.

It's a cool but terribly written quest, since it uses a new gameplay mechanic as solution (deploying anomaly from artifact) yet the hint is vague and quest marker points on electrical switches that do nothing to engine itself, just turn the lights off and on. How is player supposed to know electra anomaly is a power source and not just environmental hazard? In a perfect game where everything is simulated it could have made sense, we also could barricade the depot gates at garbage so endless cheeki hordes would fuck off, but this is not such game - we just have to know if devs scripted this behavior beforehand.
