I'm saying all Metas are shit. Every Meta is filled with Cancer. Every meta has it's cancer. Havel Shield Estoc is one of the biggest cancers. 80 isn't the only bracket filled with that. You see it at almost every level above level 60. Because it can be done reliably after that level.

The reason every meta is shit, is because the game is flawed with the way stats work and how weapons were handled.

Except it isn't amazing at that level. Because if you've ever fought a Havel Shield person, a Straight Sword guard break will guard break you unless you have 30 Endurance.
Same with a Dragon Roar. The reason it's so effective over 100 is because you have enough stats to spare on Endurance and Vitality without gimping on your health.
Have you ever fought one of those players? Because I've fought my fair share at just about every level. Bleed shits on them. A Straight Sword will guard break them if they don't have enough endurance. And a Dragon Roar is pretty much instant death.
It's most reliably done at 100+.

Actually, I do mainly use the L1 as the starter of the combo. Even though it is a bit slower, the extra damage is worth it. Just learn to space well, and learn the exact ranges of straight swords and greatswords.

Possibly, but I really only use the Lothric sword as a backup for the stance guard break against shields. Aside from that I prefer the Twinblades greatly.

Dark Souls 1 is alive on PC if your ports for the game are properly forwarded (on your networking hardware-- router or firewall).

PS3 it's very dead, along w/ Dark Souls II. Demon's Souls is still alive and kicking though, as it uses a dedicated server which makes it easy to connect to other players.

360 is kinda alive now that the XBOne BC version was released, and given to people who pre-orded DaS3.

You might want to pick up DSCM if you haven't (provided you are on PC), as it fixes a lot of the connectivity issues on PC and allows you to directly connect to players if you have friends you want to play with. It also lets you see what players are connected to you at any given moment.
