Anyhting that forces him to rush bkb counters him pretty hard. Antimage burns his mana and can't be leashed, Riki's smoke prevents him from casting anything, Leshrac just burns through him with pulse nova and edict, Earth Spirit for sudden silences and stuns. Any AoE nukes and silences generally fuck him up.

I can see some evidence supporting this anyway. AM can burn Slark's mana in lane and meanwhile if AM gets ahead of Slark in farm, which he should, if Slark pounces on AM and doesnt have an orchid, AM can just disengage

Theres also, like what that other user said, play an orchid carrier who can nuke like Invoker or Storm. There's also picking Night Stalker in lane against Slark, though you have to time your silence so he doesnt just purge it off
