Napoleon III sort of gave up that legacy, though; he didn't try to wantonly place his dynasts on any throne he could. In this universe the only one he did place his dynasty on was Poland, and that was diplomatic. He also withdrew his dynasty's claim on the Kingdom of Italy, and, although he didn't ever withdraw claims to Spain and the Netherlands, also never attempted at any point to press them. In this universe, effectively, the Bonapartes became a more normalized noble house, although of course never "usual."

As for other hyphenated noble houses, there are a ton. Look no further than the Habsburgs themselves: although it's not well-known (because they were still simply referred to as Habsburgs), the Habsburg dynasty which ruled Austria post-Maria Theresia were of the house of Habsburg-Lorraine, a cadet branch.

The Habsburg-lothringen thing was a result of marriage though, Maria Theresia married a someone of the lothringen dynasty and she, as a women, had to take his name. Unless your telling me Victor married a woman of the Warsaw dynasty.

And like I explained, in this timeline the Bonapartes normalized their status as a noble house a bit, thanks to the extremely long rule of Napoleon III (he reigned for 41 years) and his refusal to force his dynasty on other countries, only placing one dynast on the throne of Poland diplomatically. They're hardly "normal" by other noble standards, but in this timeline, without the looming presence of Napoleon I and with a larger extended family, they accept that the family isn't one huge entity without competing claims and varied areas of influence.

I did not take any pictures, the state of affairs was that after William died I had control of Normandy and Middlesex (with the king of England as my liege), and I had 1400 gold before the battle.

It was a hasty conquest, lasting a mere three months. The deciding battle was incredibly close, as I narrowly missed an ambush on his troops as they stepped out of seafare. I was two thousand men short of being equal but managed to defeat his army nonetheless through what can only be assumed as sheer resolve.

In the aftermath the king of France declared war over the county of Eu and I had to surrender, and I had mere seventy gold coins remaining. After the invasion I was dubbed Robert the Usurper. As of yet I've dealt with all my troublesome dukes and established a solid baseline for future expansion at age 36.

It did do the railroaded formation, but it only formed the NGF from Prussia's sphere (which is one of the three options), which made it significantly weakened. Then, since I had German cores, they couldn't ever form Germany proper.

The respective alliances for what will come to be known as the German National War. Ironically for its name, the South German nations have declined to aid Wilhelm, and this has freed the armies of Napoleon IV to strike across the entire front simultaneously. Especially due to the extra theater created by the entry of Sweden and Denmark into the conflict, Wilhelm's defense of Germany appears extremely doubtful, especially if French armies can rapidly seize control of German territory, thereby preventing effective mobilization.

Regardless, both powers possess a mighty new weapon which will forever change the future of warfare: the dreaded mustard gas. Which side can develop adequate defenses against this menace first may decide the entire war.

I've been encouraging immigration there for about 30 years in preparation of genocide later. There's about 5% French in every province, and in a few, like Belgium especially, there are up to 20%.

I'll probably be able to get at least a few core spread events there late-game post-genocide, and some assimilation off of that.

I've been contemplating adding a decision that auto-declares war on Spain and the Netherlands with a puppet CB to represent Napoleonic claims to those thrones which would give something like 35 infamy to start a giant coalition war, but I haven't decided yet. If I did do that, it'd probably be something I reserved for the late '10s or early '20s, though, and I'd strawpoll it beforehand, so there's still time to see how the game goes and everyone can weigh in on whether they want to see that (IE me losing like a motherfucker) or not.

I think you end up with two provinces that are in the Rhineland region but belong to some OPMs, but yeah, really easy way to take a good chunk out of Prussia early on. When they form Germany/the NGF you can just to the annex trick on Prussia.

If you didn't go towards the genocide route, I would have suggested making a flag and some prerequisites for North German assimilation into French, to simulate schooling and forced assimilation.

German infighting will be the death of their paltry confederation!

Defeatism is rife within the Confederation following "black Saturday," with some members of the German Reichstag pressing Wilhelm II to surrender in the hopes of lenient peace terms from the furious French. Wilhelm, true to his brash nature, has refused even in the face of over 120,000 German dead, but this has only served to turn the majority of his nation against him. Members of the armies are reportedly deserting in droves, and even following declarations of war from Bavaria and Wurttemberg, matters look grim indeed for the Prussian King.

Basically, the premise is that Napoleon makes peace with the rest of Europe in 1813, so that way it's not a total Napoleonic victory, but it's certainly not a Napoleonic loss like usual.

In this mod, the UK was suddenly freed of their obligations in Europe, and decided to go all out on the young USA. The Nation eventually disintegrated on it's own from the stress ( the UK made the native confederation and annexed New England), however there are several paths the small nations can take to unity

New Spain is just Carlist Mexico, after a Spanish Revolution happened right after the Napoleonic Wars, forcing the bourbons to flee. They set up shop in Mexico, which prevented Iturbide from defecting to the rebels.

They moved into Louisiana after the US fell apart, but there is an event chain centered around Louisiana that basically ends up with the UK and France demanding Mexico(new Spain) hand it over. Mexico can fight a war with them and try to keep it, or they can give it up. If they give it up, then the European powers decide to give it away to a GP w/o any colonies (like the Congo event chain). Assuming they are a GP, the nations who are eligible to try to ask the congress for it are The Netherlands, Prussia, Sardinia-Piedmont, and Naples. France and England are also options for it.

The converters are pretty good, from what ai'vw witnessed. With a wee bit of changeowner it's great.
