Throat singing
Anything else?
Some absolute MADMEN went THAT FAR NORTH they crossed some bridge between Russia and Alaska.
The genocide of Siberia's native populations is probably one of the most lowkey genocides out there.

Lulz came here expecting this. Wasn't disappointed.
Yermak
Bears
Forests
Gold
Diamonds
Oil
Tungus meteorite
Northern pole of cold
Occasional mammoth body found (apparently meat was still edible)
No fucking roads -- all goods are delivered either through northern passage which is only open for a few months or by helicopters
Also for a territory that several times bigger than USA and Europe put together -- not that many people.
I had a inexplicable obsession for Tuva once.
is this a proposed high speed rail map? i approve
Turkomongol khanates and finnic tribes that were owned and culturally genocided by Russia
just like t rest of the country: a shitheap
It must be kinda comfy living out there if you're used to it.
It'd be incredibly useless though
Cultural and linguistic genocide and general ongoing russification.
it's innawoods as fuck

>High speed rail from China to America
>Useless
What?
Do you realize just how fucking far out of the way that rail goes? Do you have any idea how much money would go into the infrastructure just from repairs alone? Even at the breakneck speeds that modern rail is capable, you're far better off shipping by plane or by sea.
Yeah it costs about $1,000-2,000 to ship a standard 40 foot cargo container from China to LA. And for anything time sensitive it's around $6 US per kg for air freight.
>Oppression of Indigenous peoples of Northern Siberia started to reach its first high point in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. It was during this time that the indigenous leaders began to loose their power and become puppets of the Russian nation. These leaders became intermediaries between the natives and the Russian state. Because attention at this time was moving towards religious affairs within the tribal communities, many of these new intermediary leaders were shamans. By the nineteenth century, a statute was enforced combining local law and Russian civil law into a single system. The Russians were able to enforce this by giving power to, and legitimizing indigenous leaders within the law system of the state. This made it possible for the Russians to monitor and control those leaders actions, and therefore manipulate the entire native community into operating under the state law.
>muh genocide! evil Russkies!

>Cultural and linguistic genocide
Literally worse than Hitler.
Basically like the American wild west, except grim and cold because it's Russia.
It's actually much more similar to Northern Canada than to American wild west.
>promotes an expensive as fuck infrastructure project through some of the harshest terrain which takes you 2.5 fucking days out of the way assuming you move at top speed the entire time (brotip: you can't)
>calls others ignorant
O boi am i laffin. It isn't anywhere near the cost.
Nothing interesting so far.
>be train
>be going 200 miles an hour through Yukon
>hit 1,500 pound moose
>everyone who doesn't die in the initial crash freezes to death in the middle of the wildernes
