Should I get health insurance this year?

Depends on how much you make, how healthy you are, and how old you are.

Nice, does it matter from which of the universities I should get my Undergrad in Accounting from? I have to choose between CSU, Kent, UA, and YSU.

Not as much as your GPA does!

GPA gets you noticed. Truly learning and trying to GET AN EDUCATION rather than just grades, will make you much more successful than your peers starting out.

30.
$50k this year
Very good health
Minimum plan is $250/month with $6,500yrly deductible.

Fucking corrupt greedy health system!

You're a big boy. Type it all in here.

taxpolicycenter.org/interactive-tools/aca-tax-calculator

I actually never calculated mine, but let us know your results. Then we can discuss if it's worth it to take the fine or to buy insurance.

On a side note, I think is is fundamentally wrong to FORCE healthy info like yourself to buy health insurance.

On the flip side, everyone should he responsible for their debt. Longgg debate

You won't see insurance come down until mandatory insurance goes into effect in 2017. After that, new companies will pop up, ppl free to switch plans all the time. That's how costs are supposed to go down
>hurr durr 2016 presidential candidates (both)
>premiums didn't go down yet let's invent a new system

You won't see health insurance come down, ever again

How can I get credit without any income?

How risky is it to fraudulently claim non-existent income in a credit application?

I don't need much. Just enough to pay the upfront costs of moving to a new city (deposit, first month of rent) when I am offered a job there.

Thanks user, will keep this in mind. Have you worked for big 4 at all around Cleveland/Akron or did you say fuck it for that?

Great thread, well deserving of a bump. I will ponder on your great successes this evening.

ohh i go to case i never see it mentioned tho damn

Did you know someone to get the job you did?

I've been having a lot of trouble getting an accounting job in Pittsburgh because I don't know anyone.

Round two if you're still watching

Did you ever work an accounting job between getting your bach and mba? During mba?

For someone pursuing the same general path anything you wish you'd done or avoided?

What kind of scholarship were you on?

How much of your income is from investments/portfolio management, how much from work?

THANKS NIGGER

How fucking long did it take to get your MBA, CPA and CFP? Do you realize that makes you one of like 5000 people in the world with those 3 designations?

How would you post that god-awful image?

Are you retarded?

Answer truthfully.

can i get a CFA or finance masters if im currently a international business management major?

*cfp

Yes and yes.

Either I'm retarded and got lucky to be paid a quarter million a year, or I am that good, and I thought that picture would help someone.

Im here to aid others just like I was mentored. I'm not here to gain any more money, I have an abundance of it.

How do I get rich? Currently working on MFin

Could you tell me about getting CfP?
I'm really interested in finance, but want a cushy and stable job in the industry rather than a fast-paced one, hence CFP.
Is it worth it? Pathway to success? Could you tell me anything about it or the opportunities it can offer?

>He took that picture seriously

Jesus christ you must have the personality of a teenage girl

There's this cool new site called tumblr! You should check it out; I think you'd like it.

1) Does your bank account look like a phone number with commas? $$$$
2) Would you recommend Accounting, do you think it will get destroyed by the wave of new technology?
3) How's life?

>Do you lurk here?
>"Yes"
>can't into greentext

lurk moar faggot

On phone mostly. Too lazy to add it

My bank accounts (note the plural) have many commas lol

I would recommendgetting into it. Accounting ledger functions will be replaced, but not higher level planning and analysis.

Life is great. I only work about 25 to 30 hours a week and get a shit ton of Vaca. I could retire for good at 40 years old.

Oh, I'm sorry, please tell us about your occupation, salary, and what knowledge you can bring to the table?

Because I'm here to give advice, not listen to some little loser try to shit post me...

Maybe if you took that image more seriously, you wouldn't be so butthurt that you haven't achieved the success you wanted yet.

You are free to leave the board... So let's get back to answering questions all! ;)

Did you ever work an accounting job between getting your bach and mba? During mba?
>Yes and yes. Big piece of advice: find a company that will PAY for you to get a masters, which is what I did.

For someone pursuing the same general path anything you wish you'd done or avoided?
>Look for the opportunity in a job, don't look for the highest pay. Over time, the latter will cost you.

What kind of scholarship were you on?
>Full ride, scored 35 on ACT

How much of your income is from investments/portfolio management, how much from work?

>About 33% from investment and the other from my job

How is the over all financial heath of the medical industry right now and what will th elong term effects of Obamacare be?

I'm rural ems and we are fighting to keep our hospitals open out here.

Our situation is the same. The "affordable" care act has decimated the healthcare industry.

We had our first operating loss last year.

On the other hand, if healthcare systems are able to adjust to the new bundled payment initiatives, they could become more profitable.

Survivorship bias meet messiah complex

Cool thread

Yeah, I don't think many people are fond of an expensive school being in the middle of shitty Cleveland. I know a lot of classmates when I was at Tri-C tell me this. Then again, I'm probably going to go to University of Akron lmao.

Op here... What do you mean by you never hear it mentioned?

I knew someone to get me in the door of the hospital finance.

I worked my ass off to get where I am now.

Proof is in the pudding.

It might be cliche, but read Rich Dad, Poor Dad. Start building ASSETS now!

I need an internship to graduate but only have one semester left. My advisor said I should contact the local hospital and ask if they could use an unpaid intern for accounting or fundraising or something. My major is Innovation & Entrepreneurship so I know a little about many business subjects but a lot about none of them.

You think a hospital would be down for something like that? I'm going back to school soon and looking into contacting that hospital. Who exactly should I contact for such a thing? Should I ask specifically about accounting or fundraising or something else? I don't want anything too heavy or serious. Something stress free like data entry would be nice since I'll already be stressed enough from my huge workload in school. Any advice?

I absolutely do. We have multiple unpaid interns who work just a day or two a week, unpaid.

I would contact HR and see if you can get them to give you a name of someone in finance to talk to.

Do you love this shit?

Are you high right now?

Do you ever get nervous?

Are you single?

I heard you fucked your girl, is it true?

You getting money?

You think them niggas you with is wit’ you?

Which state are you in?

Re read this thread. Fairly obvious lol

sorry, i'm at work rn

lol

on lunch

also cool, i got a 35 on my ACT, too

i'm at Boston College rn

from Florida

worried about future

glad u're fine

Is it true that an MBA is worthless if not from top school?

Dude don't worry about your future. Just get the best grades you can and out work everyone else. It's cliche but it's so true.

That depends on your situation. An MBA is what you make it. I truly learned a lot, but if you are going just for the networking, then go high grade.

ty fur the advice

i'm in a tough spot, tho

i'm awaiting financial aid

they offered me a lot, but my dad has to file taxes to get it

and he owes like 30k to the irs

he can't afford to file

:s

idk if i'll be able to go to college

>credit without income
Lol

>just need it for rent
Yeah I have never heard of a single landlord that takes rent on any sort of credit. Good luck getting someone to rent to you without any income!

>hurr i give good advice cuz i make money

Get out of here. You're likely where you are because of nepotism and where you started.

You sound like a complete tool with a superiority complex which is common with hospital workers.

How do you feel that your industry has completely fucked the health and well being of good Americans for decades? Being in the finance side of things i'm sure you know exactly what i mean. And before you blame the insurance companies (which is always the 1st defense of anyone in your position), your industry is equally responsible.

Why does your dad have to file taxes? To get a Parent loan? If you can prove that you can't get a parent loan (apply and get rejected) they will increase your stafford loan a little bit. Call your schools financial aid office and talk to them about it. They usually try to help, I mean, your tuition pays their salary. It is a business, they will try to work with you to finance you.

to get financial aid/scholarship

we'll try contacting them again, i guess

didn't do anything last time

:c

Thanks for the reply. I'll call them monday.
Damn that's right, they need to verify your parents income. Are your parents divorced? If so maybe you re-do your fafsa with your mothers info instead of your fathers? I only filled out my dads income, and they didn't even ask about my mom (but they are divorced).

nah, they're together

:/

Well don't worry man, if it doesn't work out this year try again next year. Eventually you'll qualify as independent and then your parents taxes won't matter. Better late than never.

sadly i'm transferring from another school

and if i'm out of school for over six months (including the summer which has been three so far) i have to pay back the loans from that school

:(

>if i'm out of school for over six months
Yea, but if you're broke you can apply for forbearance, which sucks because you'll be building interest, but it's what I did while I took a year off school to figure some things out. You might even qualify for unemployment deferment (no interest) if you show them you're applying for jobs but not being hired.

Haha wow the butthurt.... No the socialist government fuckmachine ruins everything by thinking "they know what's best"

The butt hurt is reallllll

Congratulations OP.

I am curious about your investments. What exactly did you invest in? Just tell the percentages no need for actual numbers. Thanks in advance.

You're wrong
No matter how many credentials you get nobody will ever truly love you

I'm a cryptotrading neet

>He's still defending that god-awful image

Do you unironically have a bunch of those "inspirational" posters all over your house/office?

Seriously you should check out tumblr m80. It's how me and my wife's daughter bond.

>I truly learned a lot from an MBA

>Has the audacity to criticize the knowledge of others on this board

I hope this thread is providing the ego inflation that you desperately needed OP

Did you have any experience with the big 4?

>Do you unironically have a bunch of those "inspirational" posters all over your house/office?
My dad does this

Embarrassing honestly

It's strictly an income based portfolio. So only companies and trusts that pay dividends. A mix of public companies, etfs, REITs, and a few municipal bonds.I was attacked? I haven't criticized anyone... Lol the butthurt

Do you own any cryptocurrencies?

I am starting to do the same. Buying dividend achievers who have temporary problems so their stock gets cheap. What do you think about stng, Flo, and wsr right now?

Would you recommend Finance or Engineering for someone who can do both?

I am 21 making roughly $250 a week. I plan on going to community college to pursue a degree in economics. I have no friends or family to help me financially.

Any advice on increasing my income? Today I made an Amazon seller account and plan on flipping whatever the fuck. Any gain is significant at this point, and all advice is welcome.

What is a job I can get that would help me pay for all of those extremely expensive education requirements so I could get a job like that?

This is sad why does this happen in every thread
