who writes AJ's games? he's promising 9 games in his new kickstarter.
Matthew Anderson
>Juniper's Knot was a pleasant read >Dysfunctional Systems 1 was pretty boring >Next episodes are supposed to have been even worse What went wrong.
Leo Ortiz
>meganelover Why is this whack linked?
David Sanders
nothing thrives when your leader is a dickhead with no focus.
Benjamin Campbell
Does anyone ever actually click on the links in the OP? I'm pretty sure I could insert porn and have it be pasted into new threads for months before anyone noticed
Luke Wright
That's unfortunate. JK was one of the few kinetic novels I actually enjoyed.
Evan Evans
I did post a little on /hgg/ some time ago. Was the chat mostly about not liking works in progress posted without a demo because they didn't want to get their hopes up only for the projects to die?
Xavier Smith
Bingo! Ahaha it is really you! Good to see you active user.
Andrew Gray
What attracts you most to VNs? Cute girls? Romance? Romance with cute girls? Or does there need to be a hook?
Jordan Foster
Lesbians.
Juan Lewis
Yes, yes, yes, yes.
Tyler Allen
A tense situation that sounds like it will spiral out of control.
Justin Reyes
Female protagonist + yuri route.
Colton Mitchell
I just look those up on ehentai.
Evan Hernandez
I'm going to be the weird one and say I want to have an interesting plot.
Levi King
We're not weird, it's everyone else.
Asher Hill
It was supposed to have a sequel, both an official one and one by some crazy guy on lemma trying to steal the IP and profit from it.
Jackson Gonzalez
>steal the IP How?
Wyatt Morris
yes
Wyatt Rivera
Plot (and cool art in so far as it affects what I think the plot is going to be). Cool takes preference over cute girls. There's a lot of art of cute girls already in existence.
Brayden Allen
Is any info on the sequel still around? A quick google search shows nothing.
Gavin Gomez
Thanks! It's pretty uplifting that you remembered me. I'm still working hard towards the day where I'll be qualified to post there.
Zachary Ramirez
Start okayed fan project that they said was okay if it was free, then pulled reasons out his ass on why he should be able to charge for it, including twisting peoples words and viewing non-IP holders statements as approval.
Jace Ortiz
I don't think much info was ever released, I think it never left the conceptual stage.
Evan Johnson
It was going to be an animation. They showed a clip of it - I think on the Kickstarter page for DysSys.
Adrian Scott
Did fiend get to fug the shota?
Anthony Price
>We've made a very nice VN >And now for something completely different Why would they do this?
I hope fiend turned him into a girl.
Ian Jenkins
Is the thread still around?
Ian Watson
Why would they do anything they did? Dischan was a hurricane of mad decisions and things that sounded cool and not like those other evns.
Thomas Collins
Ah, somebody was planning to revolutionize the genre. Got it.
Kayden Baker
Thanks you for the feedback. I had a thought going in that her color scheme and design would be alienating (among numerous other unrelated decisions), but felt like I needed to make what I wanted to make or I would never feel passionate enough to see it all through. I'm not sure many people will like what I am creating as a result, but I am happy to be working on it.
The coloring on the hair feels weird, and.. flat? Simple? Especially compared to the skin, and eyes, which are really nice.
John Reyes
...
Ian Stewart
Fire your artist.
Carson Smith
good ole omniknight, that bastard conned everyone
Asher Flores
How much emone did he make?
Bentley Hughes
I think it's a one person game, drawing/writing/coding, so
Lucas Sullivan
Hire an artist.
Grayson Turner
For once, I don't feel particularly bad that there doesn't seem to be a pity route.
Charles Morris
Yeah, I am weak with hair. The shading is undefined and I haven't been able to highlight the way I would like. Thanks for pointing it out, I will continue to work on it.
Liam Gray
I don't think he's ever released anything. He just cons people into joining his projects and can't actually finish anything. He's even gotten some fairly famous (among the evn scene) people to join him, then his projects ended in disaster, so they might not want to join future projects as a result.
Colton Russell
>He's even gotten some fairly famous (among the evn scene) people to join him who?
Camden Jones
has he actually, or has he just claimed that he has?
David Smith
How many other games are being developed by one person?
Ethan Martin
Anybody here know where I can get free loli characters? All I find are old hags.
Justin Lewis
Developed developed or 'developed' developed?
Liam Gonzalez
I know mine is.
Ayden King
just steal them
Adrian Gomez
Depends on whether you're friends with a loli artist or if you plan on selling your game.
Jacob Walker
I am doing that if there is no other option, but hopefully when the writing and the demo with placeholder art are done, others will see how cool is it and help me revlotuzionn the gaemre... Or at least a good enough artist will deign to take commisions for less than the blood and soul of my firstborn.
John Diaz
My games.
Justin Flores
Art isn't that expensive. Music is way worse.
Nolan Martinez
I would have stole them if I can find any. As I said there's too much old hags that I can steal but no lolis.
I'm not planning to sell the game just need to pass the time.
James Ramirez
One problem at a time, user. At least with decent art, solid writing and a demo with gameplay I can KS and maybe then I'd have a firstborn or two to offer to the music guy.
Jason Lee
Draw them yourself and hang the pictures on your wall.
Ethan Long
Don't pay a 'music guy,' we've been over this. Anyone worth a damn in the western scene wants 10k a song.
Thomas Perry
Just browse exhentai CG/sprite rips of loli JVNs if not commertial.
Luis Russell
Find a company that you like and browse for sprite rips on exhentai.
Cooper James
No, of course not. I wouldn't commision all of my music, but I'll need at least a couple of songs specifically tailored to suit my ~vision~.
Mason Phillips
Any specific tags so that I can search for it more easily? I tried to just browse through all that shit but it's hard to find usable ones.
Parker Rivera
You shouldn't commission any music. It's a waste of money, since most people mute VNs. If it's critical to your vision, just license an existing quality track.
Jeremiah Parker
>most people mute VNs Out of curiosity, is there a source for this claim?
Camden Brooks
>just license an existing quality track. That is another option I considered, yes. It will depend on if the pieces I need, or similar, are available for licensing.
Isaac Smith
It's how dad did it, it's how america does it.
Mason Gutierrez
I hope you guys are kidding. Unless über shitty, the music is (if the dev is not totally incompetent) meant to complement the tone of the scene. Muting it seems like playing the game with only half of the sprites.
Isaiah James
Unless you're licensing or paying out the ass, the music will be uber shitty.
Alexander Diaz
Some people just like to read and not be disturb.
Jack Perry
some people don't want to hear techno piano midi xylophone whatever most evn music is. i generally give the evn i play a chance but i'll mute if it's really grating like some cyanide tea games.
Alexander Turner
Some youtube musician IIRC.
Julian Rodriguez
Use everybody's favorite loli generator.
Blake Price
Solo dev here. Only thing I'm not really doing is music.
Blake Nelson
Is music really necessary? I mean, can an EVN still be considered great using royalty free music you can get anywhere?
Henry Sanchez
Same.
I've been through all the free for commercial use music I could find and couldn't find even one track to use. Has to be stock, unless you have some secret stash.
Levi Williams
Mention 3 good evn with royalty free music.
Jayden Harris
That's why I was asking.
Leo Watson
Nothing is necesary, but if you have high expectations about your product you have to be very consistent in all its aspects. Otherwise feels like wasted potential.
Nicholas Perez
I'm also a solo dev that has no money to dish out for music, art, any of that shit. I just don't want the free stock music I'll be using to detract from my story.
Kayden Sullivan
Or stock music, for that matter
Hunter Morgan
I don't know if Monster Girl Quest music is stock, but I think I heard some of its track here and there.
Carson White
Personally intend to use royalty free music of some description. I think it can really enhance the story if you get it right. I do know that dead air feels pretty weak/cheap so even if I never go full carefully selected soundtrack, I at least don't want to go dead air.
Jordan Russell
It's a jvn, but didn't Hatoful Boyfriend use all free/stock music?
Jaxon Lee
I don't think it's that big of a deal. There're more options for stock music if your game isn't commercial. You might consider getting teammates if you don't have any of the major skills like art yourself. But I think music is the least important aspect, personally. People will at least try a game with bad music, but bad art can turn them away before they even read the description.
Yep. And it worked out pretty well for them, imho.
Josiah Evans
Did he actually manage to con the artists in that thread into making stuff for him, or did he steal it?
Noah Lopez
Was this person also confirmed to be Jiro Hochikoshi? I remember seeing Doomfest saying on Twitter that JH conned a friend of his into working with him and then things went badly, which is why he posted on Twitter to warn other people.
Owen Lopez
Was Tuesday made in unity?
Asher Smith
I think it was Construct 2.
Blake Scott
Yeah, he is confirmed to be Jiro.
Josiah Cruz
oh alright, thanks
Nathaniel Diaz
live to die another day
Parker Rivera
Die, die already!
Parker Gray
Pretty sure it uses both stock BGs that don't look very good and music. The consumers really don't care as much as the devs will.
Brayden Miller
Originally worked on in Construct 2, current build is in Game Maker.
Hunter Powell
I see, thanks. Where the fuck did I get the unity idea I don't know.
