Or that the average person on Veeky Forums, Reddit, etc. harbors at least some shared belief with /pol/ and that there really is no escaping it.

I visit /pol/ very rarely, and even then I've seen threads about Veeky Forums, many users seem to think it's a leftist bastion. I have no problem with /pol/lacks posting on Veeky Forums, the problem arises when they refuse to discuss things in good faith, dragging all their ideology over here with them.

It's not a phenomenon that exists solely among /pol/ users. There is an influx of new users to every board from every board during the summer. The thing is, lots of the /pol/ users stick out like a sore thumb because the content of their home board has relevancy to this board.

Agreed, the /pol/ invasion is overstated. Sure, their opinions are simplistic and uninformed, but I can just ignore statements like "Africa sucks because niggers" or "The Holocaust is a fake Jewish conspiracy". There is a decent amount of these types of posts in certain threads, but there's other simplistic answers that just aren't /pol/ opinions, and you're right, there's very seldom any posts that reach the extreme "kill the gays" /pol/ position.

The main thing I object to that's probably a /pol/ thing (but obviously is done by others to with "back to /pol/", etc) is the ad hominem stuff where someone gives an opinion and there are replies like cuck and goy. /pol/ can derail threads, but I put a lot of blame for that on people who engage a /pol/ shitpost; they will poorly defend their views by pointing to IQ, Jewish people in government, etc., and that definitely draws /pol/ to Veeky Forums more.
