No, its stupid and annoying that in solar armor you still take 200 damage from red devils with the worm scarf on.
You can't build or do shit underground in hardmode without 150 damage hornets hitting you constantly until you get the stardust dragon.
The scaling really hurts expert hardmode and makes it tedious to do anything

The bosses were all fine and weren't hard to beat, but the mobs do the same damage as the moon lords lazer half the time.
Its just tedious as fuck that every enemy is going to scale up to match whatever gear you have.
You can't deny that it really shits on your sense of progress.
Seriously try building anything in hardmode underground and tell me it isn't just annoying, or are you really looking for building itself to be a struggle itself and really challenging?

I agree with you except for the building part. I have a dedicated world where I build. And if I want to build in my expert mode world, I just use tshock to turn off enemy spawns.

I picked up Terraria on the Vita after a year and... i can't assign quick shortcuts with the d-pad. I'm stuck with using the manual cursor everytime i use the d-pad, is this normal?

Sure can deny it, because unlike elder scrolls games mobs don't scale to your gear, they get a one time stat upgrade which is justified within the narrative of the game (spirits are unleashed because you disturbed the balance by killing wof or some shit).

It's not a one time thing though. The more your progress in expert mode the more they scale up

I'm not memeing, you are simply bad if you think you aren't expected to have at least some basic level of pattern learning in terraria. It's part of the game and especially expert mode, which assumes the player already killed eoc and skeletron enough times that they got good.

My worst complaint is that you cannot connect them with any other accessories to upgrade them and instead have to waste an accessory slot.

I actually just build 3 commiehouses where im building nowdays and shut off spawns almost completely.
And yeah stardust dragon makes everything fine but before that its really tedious to do anything.

You should be able to combine all of it
Spore Sac + Brain + Hive Pack + Slime
And even then I would pick other accessories over it anytime.

Fighting bosses is completely different than trying to build with mobs up your ass constantly. Why do you keep comparing them. There is no trick to being able to build peacefully and it will always be annoying until you get the dragon staff

I mean, you are welcome to play how you want, but really?

The game is supposed to have living creatures in it to get in the way of your mining, just kill them and stop complaining and if you're having trouble building anywhere outside the jungle you're just bad. I'm not comparing bosses to normal mobs, expert mode expects you to be universally familiar with everything from bosses to hornets and man eaters.

You can place more than one of an object. Having to place two blocks of dirt and plant two grass seeds before dropping your sunflower is hardly a big deal. Sonar potions are easy to get and work wonders when fishing for a specific fish. Half of those enemies will be suck in random holes in the wall, if you didn't wall off the area you are building in already.

Then you have banners/summons to murder anything that comes close to you while also making them deal drastically less damage if they get near. Sentry staves. It's seriously not that big of a deal.

Of course I'm familiar with every enemy in the game, that doesn't make it less tedious.
I'm not trying to get good at fighting mobs, im trying to build, I want to be focused on building and have that mindset.
It's the same reason why nobody plays minecraft off of peaceful difficulty unless they're going for drops.
In terraria its frustrating because the fastest way to even deal with certain things is accept that you're going to die, a lot.
Mining for chlorophyte was a process of me teleporting to the jungle and drinking spelunker + mining with mining set on and shroomite digging claws and just going quickly until I died. Because fighting mobs isn't worth it. The time it takes you to get up to one who's being annoying and pesky gives enough time for 4 more to spawn.
Saying "Just kill them" doesn't help when doing so doesn't matter as more will span nearly instantly. Being careful is worse than being quickly and brute forcing things, which doesn't work with building.

Its still faster just to build until you die and respawn and continue until your building is done.
70% of your process of building something sounds like it isn't building at all.

I hope one of the updates soon will add more summoning things and gear prehardmode (and hardmode), or makes throwing an actual class with boomerangs and shit, or both.

You don't need to do all of that shit at once, you dense asshole. Even a single one of those options will make things easier on you but you chose to ignore every last one because you have this idea that its faster to die, wait for respawn, and treck back to where you were building than to just fucking take a minute to prepare for what you are going to do beforehand.

You're really exaggerating how long it takes to place like 15 blocks total before you start building something. You don't even have to go full summoner, just have the weapons with you and maybe use a potion / table buff. The banners are hardly a requirement, just a bonus, and you only need one for the most common enemy types you'll be up against anyway. And again, all that shit is moot anyway if you just block off where you want to start working in the first place. Most monsters can't do shit about a one block wide wall, and those monsters will eat up the spawn limit.

You may think you are doing things the easier, faster way but the fact that you are bitching so much about it should give you a hint that you are pretty wrong.

Expert mode just highlights how most end game content revolves around self healing or cheesing. Dodging and skillful play goes out the window when every enemies can 2 tap you with their minishark rate of fire auto homing projectiles whilst charging you at the speed of light.

Pure dodging is easy, dodging while also aiming your weapon is where it gets harder, but I agree the easiest way to beat expert hardmode if it's your first time is achieving a rate of healing greater than your rate of damage intake.

basically normal mode is too easy but expert is too much of a jump into tedium, especially pre-hardmode enemies in hardmode

Yeah you pretty much have to have a way to self heal. I always have to switch out an accessory slot for the golem expert item when I need to heal. The base healing rate is fucking atrocious.

Enemies spawn significantly faster in expert mode. Pretty sure attacking an enemy has a high chance of summoning more of that enemy

I think that's a bit overkill because I made a frost armor and had leftovers, also you don't need a better pickaxe than reaver shark until hallowed one.

No user, melee sets need more armor because they're at more danger, having to get close enough to melee enemies ;^)
