No, its stupid and annoying that in solar armor you still take 200 damage from red devils with the worm scarf on. You can't build or do shit underground in hardmode without 150 damage hornets hitting you constantly until you get the stardust dragon. The scaling really hurts expert hardmode and makes it tedious to do anything

Looking to trade need: a copy of terraria for my buddy who has never played it before offer: got a bunch of cool stuff in my inventory and I'll let you pick whatever, backgrounds, emoticons, gems, and even h1z1 skins if you're into that. I also have a spare ticket for zyzzcon queensland.

The bosses were all fine and weren't hard to beat, but the mobs do the same damage as the moon lords lazer half the time. Its just tedious as fuck that every enemy is going to scale up to match whatever gear you have. You can't deny that it really shits on your sense of progress. Seriously try building anything in hardmode underground and tell me it isn't just annoying, or are you really looking for building itself to be a struggle itself and really challenging?
Chase Morgan

I agree with you except for the building part. I have a dedicated world where I build. And if I want to build in my expert mode world, I just use tshock to turn off enemy spawns.
Benjamin Ross
I picked up Terraria on the Vita after a year and... i can't assign quick shortcuts with the d-pad. I'm stuck with using the manual cursor everytime i use the d-pad, is this normal?
Joshua Morales
>I enjoy being able to build peacefully for 3 second intervals at a time before I have to start shifting my focus to the mobs otherwise I'll be three-shot.
Leo Bennett
Sure can deny it, because unlike elder scrolls games mobs don't scale to your gear, they get a one time stat upgrade which is justified within the narrative of the game (spirits are unleashed because you disturbed the balance by killing wof or some shit).
James Wood
It's not a one time thing though. The more your progress in expert mode the more they scale up
Caleb Wright

It's different when you have beaten the game, have all the end game gear and armor and everything scales up to still shit on you, meanwhile the bosses are all easy. Moon Lord doesn't have shit on 20 Ichor Stickers.

but user, we have to MAYK IT HARDURR! our penis size is determined by how much HARDURR the games we play are than what other people play!

No one appreciates this as the reward for beating the final boss on the hardest mode. Make Skeletron or Brain of Cthulhu drop this for christs sake
They really ran out of ideas for hardmode treasure bags didnt they?
Nathaniel Anderson
they've been doing that with every upload for over a year now.
Juan Robinson
I'm not memeing, you are simply bad if you think you aren't expected to have at least some basic level of pattern learning in terraria. It's part of the game and especially expert mode, which assumes the player already killed eoc and skeletron enough times that they got good.
Ryder Brooks
My worst complaint is that you cannot connect them with any other accessories to upgrade them and instead have to waste an accessory slot. >frostspark boots + spore sac = nature boots
Angel Baker
I don't bother with that shit, Damselfish are weirdly rare. I actually just build 3 commiehouses where im building nowdays and shut off spawns almost completely. And yeah stardust dragon makes everything fine but before that its really tedious to do anything.
Isaiah Gomez
You should be able to combine all of it Spore Sac + Brain + Hive Pack + Slime And even then I would pick other accessories over it anytime.
Christian Anderson
Really? Damn. I still have a shitton of porn from when they didn't do that.
Logan Cruz
Fighting bosses is completely different than trying to build with mobs up your ass constantly. Why do you keep comparing them. There is no trick to being able to build peacefully and it will always be annoying until you get the dragon staff
Cooper Collins
>Enemy spawns are annoying! >Here's like a half a dozen tools you can use to make it easier >I don't bother with that shit
I mean, you are welcome to play how you want, but really?
Alexander White
The game is supposed to have living creatures in it to get in the way of your mining, just kill them and stop complaining and if you're having trouble building anywhere outside the jungle you're just bad. I'm not comparing bosses to normal mobs, expert mode expects you to be universally familiar with everything from bosses to hornets and man eaters.
Angel Kelly
>Set up peace candle and move it around constantly as I'm building >Plant dirt underground and grow seeds so I can place a sunflower, have to move that around too >Fish for 3 years with 130 bait power, get 2 damselfish (Seriously what is up with that I get more golden crates than damselfish) and make peace potions >6 Enemies Nearby!
Camden Morgan
You can place more than one of an object. Having to place two blocks of dirt and plant two grass seeds before dropping your sunflower is hardly a big deal. Sonar potions are easy to get and work wonders when fishing for a specific fish. Half of those enemies will be suck in random holes in the wall, if you didn't wall off the area you are building in already.
Then you have banners/summons to murder anything that comes close to you while also making them deal drastically less damage if they get near. Sentry staves. It's seriously not that big of a deal.
Mason Myers
Of course I'm familiar with every enemy in the game, that doesn't make it less tedious. I'm not trying to get good at fighting mobs, im trying to build, I want to be focused on building and have that mindset. It's the same reason why nobody plays minecraft off of peaceful difficulty unless they're going for drops. In terraria its frustrating because the fastest way to even deal with certain things is accept that you're going to die, a lot. Mining for chlorophyte was a process of me teleporting to the jungle and drinking spelunker + mining with mining set on and shroomite digging claws and just going quickly until I died. Because fighting mobs isn't worth it. The time it takes you to get up to one who's being annoying and pesky gives enough time for 4 more to spawn. Saying "Just kill them" doesn't help when doing so doesn't matter as more will span nearly instantly. Being careful is worse than being quickly and brute forcing things, which doesn't work with building.
Carter Hill

>It's not that big of a deal >Just plant sunflowers around your building place >And kill each enemy 200 times to put banners all over too >And place a bunch of peace candles down >And wear summoner gear and make summoning weapons >And go to the ocean and grab a bunch of coral to make sonar potions, to be able to fish for damsel fish easier >Then make heaps of calming potions and really hope you dont die because the potion effect would go away
Its still faster just to build until you die and respawn and continue until your building is done. 70% of your process of building something sounds like it isn't building at all.
Brody Ross
I hope one of the updates soon will add more summoning things and gear prehardmode (and hardmode), or makes throwing an actual class with boomerangs and shit, or both.
Blake Moore
You don't need to do all of that shit at once, you dense asshole. Even a single one of those options will make things easier on you but you chose to ignore every last one because you have this idea that its faster to die, wait for respawn, and treck back to where you were building than to just fucking take a minute to prepare for what you are going to do beforehand.
You're really exaggerating how long it takes to place like 15 blocks total before you start building something. You don't even have to go full summoner, just have the weapons with you and maybe use a potion / table buff. The banners are hardly a requirement, just a bonus, and you only need one for the most common enemy types you'll be up against anyway. And again, all that shit is moot anyway if you just block off where you want to start working in the first place. Most monsters can't do shit about a one block wide wall, and those monsters will eat up the spawn limit.
You may think you are doing things the easier, faster way but the fact that you are bitching so much about it should give you a hint that you are pretty wrong.
Caleb Nguyen
whitney said they're gonna split 1.3.2 into two updates, meaning we'll have to wait TWO years for underground desert to be slightly useful

Expert mode just highlights how most end game content revolves around self healing or cheesing. Dodging and skillful play goes out the window when every enemies can 2 tap you with their minishark rate of fire auto homing projectiles whilst charging you at the speed of light.
Nathan Nguyen
git gud, top zozzle
Charles Peterson
But I finished expert mode easily user. It just wasn't fun because red balances the game around chessing self healing fags
Jackson Evans
Pure dodging is easy, dodging while also aiming your weapon is where it gets harder, but I agree the easiest way to beat expert hardmode if it's your first time is achieving a rate of healing greater than your rate of damage intake.
Jason Cooper
basically normal mode is too easy but expert is too much of a jump into tedium, especially pre-hardmode enemies in hardmode hornets are gay as shit
Jonathan Russell
>potions on a 60 second timer Yeah you pretty much have to have a way to self heal. I always have to switch out an accessory slot for the golem expert item when I need to heal. The base healing rate is fucking atrocious.

possibly the update with the underground desert i'd guess
if that's the case then 1.3.2 must be really soon? not sure what their progress is since they've announced it back in april. some are saying it'll be out in the next 1-2 weeks or some shit
Anthony Davis
>k2000 what did she mean by this

That's a pretty big drop, dude. It literally dropped the spawn rate by a third and took you no time at all. And look! Most of the enemies that ARE there are stuck behind your wall so what the fuck does it matter?

How many crates would i need to get enough hardmode ores to make a pickaxe and armor without breaking any altars?
Cameron Price
why do the non-melee sets have shit defense even though theyre made of the same materials hallowed with melee helmet-50 hallowed with ranged helmet-35 hallowed with magic helmet-31 and dont even get me started on the summoner sets, what with their moonlord-tier set not even passing 40 dont all classes need roughly the same amount of defense, especially in hardmode+expert?
Henry Roberts
30 gold crates, they're the only ones that give titanium I think that's a bit overkill because I made a frost armor and had leftovers, also you don't need a better pickaxe than reaver shark until hallowed one.
Aiden Fisher
No user, melee sets need more armor because they're at more danger, having to get close enough to melee enemies ;^)
Ryan Anderson

Josiah Peterson
>falling for "le expert is good may may" you only have yourself to blame

>getting hit by mimics lmao kid let me tell you a secret you find the hallow you go underground you get 15 souls of light you craft 1 pink key you put the key in an empty chest it becomes a hallowed mimic you kill the hallowed mimic the hallowed mimic has a 1/3 chance of dropping an item called "daedalus stormbow" you kill all 3 mechanical bosses with this item heh
Eli Collins
>1/3 >stormbow with melee well memed my friend!
Charles Bailey

Did a ranged playthrough recently on expert, never knew about that until I got it. It fucks destroyer and skeletron prime so hard. Not the twins though, still wanna use the megashark or a repeater. Holy arrows with it is so wack
Cameron Davis
>"Melee"
Nathaniel Rogers
>Not the twins though, still wanna use the megashark or a repeater. my m8 the twins are the easiest boss in the game you need 2 gravitation potions just go up and when you reach the ceiling you go down how can the eyes even compete?

??? I was just saying the deadulous stormbow doesn't do well against them, you're better off using something that hits them more

>Have to kill all three mech bosses, plantera, and golem in order to make the hardmode magic set >Next boss in progression is immune to your unique set bonus Ok, cool. They give the tanks the pull agro mechanic, They give the dps the reduce agro mechanic, And they give the support zero (0) way to support your team without having kill moon lord already Such cool spells but the class is a glorified ranger with less armor and damage

Hudson Flores
>you have to kill golem to make the spectre set Other than that I agree that moonman being practically immune to life steal is fucking bullshit. They should've given him a damage debuff like the one from the martians to counter the life steal instead of directly cockblocking it.
Nolan Lopez
They will start working on that a few years from now. For now, they are working on terraria and terraria: otherworld.
