The midway used to be the end game meta. She was unstoppable in the early days. Almost to the point where it was not fun to play t9-t10 games. It was disgusting.

Its like allowing a T10 Arty to fuck every single Heavy with no consequences.

Midway deserved the nerf but the CVNTS cried and left. Thank god.

I've been playing since the Essex was the T10 and there was no lock on CVs per team, I remember the shit that was going on.
But despite being hot garbage now people are still shitting up people's games with their vastly worse ships to get to it for some ungodly reason.

Isn't Ibuki literally Mogami with worse MM, 500 meters more range and inconsequentially better AA?

Actually it has something like 4km better range (a bit over 19km) and a heal pot. Which is enough for me because I hated the Mogami.
And it's a better looking ship.

It gets the T9 upgrades as well.

I agree to better looking, those Taihou-style secondaries and forward pointing antenna which remind me of ears for some reason off the foremast really do look good.

Originally I was just going to blast through to the Zao and never look back but I've really fallen in love with the Ibuki. If I wasn't so strapped for dosh I'd probably keep it when I move on.
